View Full Version : EVERY song on TT5B is one of their best!

Picture this: If ANY song from TT5B appeared on any other album it would be one of the best songs on that album. The problem is that it's a whole album of sick rap songs so people tend to lump them all together like its one long song. It's an overload! Now that's pretty ironic. 15 of their best songs put together as an album and the album isn't recieved as well as it should.
If they recorded a few instrumentals and punk songs with some skits or whatever, and mixed them with these 15 songs, everyone would be saying how this is their best album ever, I am sure of it. ;)

I still prefer Check Your Head. They need instrumentals on the new album.

I reckon 'ch-check it out' is a pretty good 'big song' for tt5b

I guess people don't understand that it's supposed to be a simple, stripped down old school album and all the songs on there are their big songs. I think it's a great album too, honestly. (y) Of course, I do like their instrumentals and punk and pretty much everything they do. :D

i understand that. thats why i said it was ironic. the mainstream would have called it their best work if they threw in 5 non rap songs

No offense, but thats a pretty laughable assessment. I like the album overall, but 'All Lifestyles', 'We Got The', 'Shazam'...sick rap songs my ass.

I think that opinion is a bit extreme. TT5B was good, hell, I'll even say it was great. But, to say every song was their best is a bit too much. They had the usual 3 or 4 singles that hit it big on the radio or MTV or whatever, and the rest is just kinda mediocre.
This is my opinion and does not reflect anyone else on the board, etc etc...

DAMN IT! i'm tired of people not includign the rest of that line, it's not funny at all unless you finish it: "watcha talkin' about Willis, who's the illest? You know my name is Adam stop calling my Phyllis"

They should work together with the Neptunes. The Neptunes proved with NERD that they can play instruments and In Search Of especially Rockstar reminded me of Check Your Head.

i have bought every record after
licenced to ill the day it came out. i got ill communication 2 weeks before it came out, and tt5b 1 week before it came out. My licenced to ill was bought on wax and my paul's boutique was bought on cassette and Check Your Head was the first CD i owned. Are you happy now?

you guys are seriously arguing about this???? there are better things to do with your time, than discussing who bought the albums first, isnt this something you guys should be relating to eachother with, the whole you both like the beastie boys thing...???
whateves, on the subject of this being an awsome album, I must conquer, it goes back to their old school roots, but they left the old ignorent lyrics back in 1986 which is nice, and add the lyrics about whats actually going on in the world, it's quite refreshing to hear, esp. with all the chaos and animosity that's happening everywhere

Rick Rubin was always good at those old school hip hop beats, I wonder why he didn't re-unite with the Beasties to make the album? Personally I thought with the album the Beasties covered yet another field in the rollling countryside of music, and it was an overall a cracking album.
