Just because some people don't like one certain song, or like some songs better doesn't really make them not a Beastie Boys fan. Not everybody is going to like everything they do, it's just their opinion and what they prefer. I agree though, that fans should support their favorite group and everything, and I do, but this is a message board so people are going to voice their opinions. I agree though that some people can be a bit too honest or blunt, but that's just their personality so except it and get use to it, they ain't going to stop hating. All you need to worry about is what you like, and don't get so upset about what other people like. That's what I do.

Get with it. TT5B is poor compared to everything they've done before it (apart from LTI).

We're allowed to hate this crap if we want. There's no point in liking it just because it's by the Beastie Boys.

You make a valid point, but you are also understating the album as well. Just because it may not hold up next to their previous work doesn't mean it's bad music. It's like saying that just because Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin wasn't as good as Zeppelin I & II makes it not a good record. There's a huge difference between judging music in comparison to music in general and the previous efforts of a single artist. I do second your opinion though that no one should dig a record just because they like the artist, regardless of quality, but let's be honest, TT5B is not a bad record by any means, it's just not as thoughtful as the rest. I don't think the boys expected anyone to put it before their older stuff anyway. Mike said himself that it was some juvenile stuff. They knew it was a step lighter than before, but it's still not lacking in overall quality.
