http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/4109556.stmIt's tyres, you nitwit and it had nothing, whatsoever, to do the the 'Yanks', other than it being Indianapolis. The FIA and Ferrari refused to accept the Michelin teams' proposal of a chicane before the 13th corner, to slow the cars down and prevent the type of accident which could have proved fatal to drivers and spectators, so the Michelin runners dropped out before the start rather than plant their cars and drivers into the wall when their tyres blew, as they surely would have.
How the 'Yanks' can be to blame for this is beyond me. Typical bloody Pom. Blaming the French tyre company as well. FYI most of the teams who pulled out have BRITISH people in them.

Would you have made a post lambasting America if the race continued and someone died on the fault tires?
GMA']Would you have made a post lambasting America if the race continued and someone died on the fault tires? The 'Yanks' were the biggest losers in the whole debarcle. Loads of 'Yanks' turned up to watch a sport which is basically European (the US has Indycar and NASCAR and loads of other motorsports to occupy its attention, not to mention all the other sports). A lot of American people gave up their sunday and 100 U$ (which is damn cheap... it's 400 €uros to watch the French Grand Prix, if you can get tickets less than a year in advance!) The post was made by somebody who a) hasn't a clue about F1GP and b) will take any opportunity to knock Americans and America, never having been there himself.

NASCAR sucks.
NASCAR sucks.Word. I've never followed it, but it looks very dull (which is what Formula One would look like if you don't keep track (haha) of the teams, races, etc.)

What the fuck is a TYRE and what kind of idiot spells it like that
What the fuck is a TYRE and what kind of idiot spells it like thatPeople who are tired of other people who don't know how to spell. :)
I know it's spelled tire in the States, I was simply pointing out the spelling to somebody who likes to jump on Americanised spelling whenever he gets the chance.

Ferrari didn't partake into the discussion as it didn't concern them. To my knowledge they haven't given their opinion about the whole thing and haven't refused to accept anything. Jordan and Minardi however had agreed not to race without the chicane but the Minardi boss stated that he was very pissed off at the Jordan team because they decided to race despite that agreement forcing Minardi to come out as well.
The Minardi boss had permission to speak freely and swear on dutch television and used that to it's fullest.

The Minardi boss had permission to speak freely and swear on dutch television and used that to it's fullest. I read in a lot of sources that Ferrari objected to the chicane. But it was the FIA who really rejected it. Ferrari simply didn't join the other teams, because they didn't have to. They also refused to accept an offer of all the Bridgestones starting in front, so Trulli would have been 7th on the grid (and Ferrari were on better tyres). Anyway, it's not their fault. Their tyres were fine and they didn't have to agree to anything. They were well within their rights to do what they did and they want to win, regardless. They've also been at a disadvantage all year because of their tyres, so why should they give it up?
The other teams didn't want to endanger their drivers and the crowd and wreck their cars, which is what Michelin said would happen if there was no chicane. All of the cars which pulled off the track would have crashed, some drivers and spectators injured or killed, THAT's why there were only 6 cars on the grid.
Apologies to non-F1 fans. This is not political and should probably be discussed elsewhere (http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbfivelive/F2148571).

Winning five titles in a row will make you a tad impopular so people give Ferrari more shit than they deserve in my opinion.
I fully agree with all you said in your post :)

Did I lambast America? No.
But it was a hollow victory and left many questioning F1's future in America.
I did not write that, I did not say that "the Americans were to blame." I was merely referring to the fact that the Americans are at the centre of a controversy. Infact, many people said it was the nature of the Indianapolis circuit that caused the tires to blow (or that the nature of the circuit caused people to run the tyres in an unsafe manner) and that as such it is unsuitable for few Grand Prixs.
It was French tyres (Michellin) that were the only explanation given, and it was only the cars with those French tyres which did not race. The tyres were to blame, they were french. Ergo the French tyres were to blame. As I said (quite clearly I thought) it was french tyres that were the cause of this, and started the post with "which is odd" which should suggest that I am not in agreement with the preceding sentiments, I find it bizarre that you take it as a lambasting of America.
I can only assume that you are desperate to try to score points off me, and as such you are willing to take any tenuous opportunity to do so, irrespective of its validity.
I attribute this to you being a little bitch.
Also, I have never "corrected" an Americanised spelling and said "duh, you are stupid for not spelling it the English way."
It is perfectly understandable for an American to spell in American English, and I do not blame them for it when they do so. So trying to suggest that I am some sort of spelling facist is quite frankly a nonsense as well.
If you people weren't so caught up in your own self-importance, you might actually take onboard what I am saying, rather than what you think I am saying.
And when you post having had 4 hours sleep out of more than 24, I do not pick at minor spelling errors in your posts.
