It loses a lot in the shrink down to low resolution. I've spent several days on it so I'd really like to go with it. If you have specific things that make you cringe though now would be a good time to voice them. I can still make changes.

I think with the black border, the brightness of the photo throws me off a bit. maybe adjust the brightness a bit to better match the two?

I dimmed it and then swung the contrast both ways. The flash from the camera created some white zones about which nothing can be done. We're pretty commited to the photo. It was taken by a dear friend and highlights out similarities and differences (what we were trying to get across on the cover).

I ended up modifying the brightness/contrast on the high res master a wee bit, but I can't say it helped much.

I'd make the photo smaller, maybe emphasizing that it's sort of a snapshot rather than an artistic portrait. You know what I mean? It could be a photo lying on a sheaf of poems or something.

Or, you might make it black and white; see if that helps. Or pick some monochrome hue and see what happens.

I do like the border -- that's really nice.

The main thing I don't like is the typography. Too many fonts, and the way "Invisible Fire" is presented just looks hokey to me.

I'm just assuming you posted this and wanted honest opinions, GAL. I've never had a bad word to say about your art before, so I hope you think this is constructive criticism.

i like the border, but i agree with a-z about the type.

that's a very unflattering photo for both of you, and it's obvious that it's a snapshot. if you're committed to it, i understand, but i'd choose a different shot, or not use it at all and put it on the inside as a-z suggested...it just doesn't look all that great :\

i agree about the type face. its all over the place.

you should darken up the background on the photo of you and anna so it's completely black
