Some of you know I keep a garden beside my house. Well, today as I was strolling about to snap some photos of my blooming flowers, and I got quite an eye full........

Let's get it on........

I carefully shoveled them out of the pond for their porn debut!

In your eyes...the light..the heat....

I put the frogs back and snapped some pics of my flowers. This is Echinacea (purple cone flower), which has just bloomed, surrounded by oregana, lemon balm and black-eyed susans.

Thats exploitation!!! I'm going to get my lesbian feminist politics lecturer to have a word to you about how pornography is degrading to women etc etc :p

BTW Nice little garden there. Our garden just got torn to shreds because we got new fences put in all around. They had to get rid of all these nice old vines, rose bushes, flowers, a few trees and half of the hedge that separates our backyard down the middle :( There was also a really awesome ummm....whatever the name is of that fern with like fishbone leaves (possibly a fishbone fern??) and they took it out. It looks so neat and unnatural now. But at least we got all our cricket balls that we hit in the bushes back.

Now I gotta find the pictures my dad took of two toads going at it. It was nestled nicely on the roll of film between my college graduation, and my brother's.

QAD- Please join the frog porn gun. ;)

Tulla- When they croak, they scream your name.

Rancid- I'm going to miss my garden. I may have to take some of it with me...

Echinacea is great for your immune system apparently. So don't just take pictures, use it! Nice pics though, they are some fat ass frogs.

Ohh yeah...you're moving to the apartment and all :(

Maybe you can get one with a courtyard or something, in Australia all the apartments except high rise ones have fairly big courtyards. Its like an essential thing for an Australian to have enough room to play backyard cricket amongst a few eucalypts :)

Thanks for the info about Echinasea. I was going to take this pic to the nursery tomorrow because I forgot the name, you saved me the embarassment. I grew it last year after seeing it at the openair butterfly exhibit at the bronx zoo last, that's where the pic is from.

Apparently it's not an annual for it never came back this year so I'm out to pick up another one.

Echinacea is a perennial so it should be coming back. It blooms quite late (here at least) and my plants are still rather small.
I make flu medicine out of mine. I use the petals (I think the other parts of the plant have the same effect as well, bt the petals look nice in the jar), fill a jar with them and then add corn-vodka (potato-made vodka isn't just as good, its got something to do with it been grown under the ground, corn over ground.... something anthropoligical...) and keep it on the windowsill for two weeks turning it a couple of times a day and you're ready to challenge the autumn's rainy weather!

Rich, what you have there is white coneflower, which is rather testy at times. As B-grrlie said above, it blooms late, and sometimes the white may not come back. It's hard to start from seed, too. Mine, the standard purple coneflower, blooms in June-July here, and it's what is mostly used to make teas and tinctures to make an immune system booster.

The best part to use are the roots. Just cut them, boil them, and you have a nice tea...but don't use too much. It's very potent.

Rancid....Hmmm..I've never played cricket, however I have played crouquet.
