I heard something about this ages ago, then nothing since. Whats up? Did it come out? Delayed?

I had posted a thread a long time ago addressing this. When I picked up the disc "Bird Up", a tribute to Charlie Parker with remixes by a bunch of hot producers (including Automator), the inside liner notes included a synopsis on each producer and what to expect from them in the future. The Automator one said that he's been working on a solo album which inc;udes appearances by (a list of names) and the Beastie Boys. I know that the album itself is no fluke, for many music magazines and sites have mentioned it as well, including interviews with Dan himself. Unfortunately, that one source (the Bird Up liner notes), was the only place I heard any mention of the bboys on there. The album is going to be sick though. There's going to be a whole bunch of collabs with the likes of Del, Mike Patton, Busta Rhymes w/ Le Ann Rhimes (weird, I know) and a whole bunch of otherworldy characters. It's called "Omakase" and was supposed to drop last year, but with Dan's overachiever, workaholic schedule, who knows when it'll see the light of day. When I went to see Kid Koala last winter when he came to Chicago, he actually spun a beat off of Dan's unreleased solo LP; no need to say it was fuckin' dope. (y)

Wow, I hadn't even heard that the Beasties were going to be on it. I'm super stoked about that album, though. I'm dissapointed with the utter lack of news about it. Anything with the Automator's name attached to it has got to be good. And if the Beastie Boys are involved as well, it's going to be amazing. Well... Actually, his remix of Negotiation Limerick File was kind of wack... I really like Metaphysical, though. M-I-H-O.

I agree. That remix was an enormous let down. A really half-assed effort if you ask me.
