I have butterflies because I get really nervous and excited about extremely fun things. I shook with excitement for 4 days waiting for Star Wars. :D

But yeah, there's other reasons. But I don't want to get into it.

OMG I am so like that. (I said that like I was 15.)

Seriously, aside of when I don't sleep well, I am always up. When I know I'm going to be doing something like that, I can't stop talking and I talk fast. Stream of consciousness. I have to edit in real time. It's actually kind of pathetic and someone else might get depressed over it. Like I said, I'm a generally up person.

I am feeling revved for a trip that's not happening for 5ish weeks. I don't know what I'll be like when it actually comes.

Right now, I'm on the verge of talking fast because I'm meeting a friend for dinner in 2 hours & 6 minutes and we have PLANS.

I haven't seen SW yet. I planned to do that this weekend but I don't think I want to sit inside of a theater on a weekend where it's going to be in the 90s.

Give yourself a break. Don't pretend to be anyone you're not. Have fun.

I am supposed to go to a huge party on Saturday and I'd rather not. I love dinner parties and cocktail parties, but I am never in the mood for a big crazy party like this. I usually dread going but end up having fun. I will consider coming up with an excuse not to go up until the last minute. Thank god tonight will be a more low key hanging out thing.

But the big parties are so much easier to duck out of and you can usually wear whatever you want to them.

I have a friend who avoids the smaller dinner parties because he is partially deaf -- it's very hard for him to follow the conversations. It pains me to see him struggling with it because he doesn't tell most people about his problem and then has a tough time with it all. I try to be there to interpret/repeat/talk right to him so if he's going to one of those things, I am to. Blech.

It's more that my friends who throw dinner parties are cool and have interesting friends. My friends who have wild parties are great one on one, but they tend to have friends I don't like and I tend not to like the way they behave at large parties. It's like they go back to their college frat/sorority party persona.

I get it. Ewwww...I didn't particularly like frat/sorority parties when I was in college let alone now. There comes a time when you gotta put that stuff behind you. Good luck dodging that party!

Probably a mistake to dump this in TS's thread, but my weekend started out crappy. No lovely dinner because others wanted to go see Star Wars pt.3 instead. So dinner was popcorn. :(

I can't remember when I saw a worse movie in a theater. I couldn't believe how bad it was. I still can't believe it. I stiffled my displeasure for a long time, until one of my friends laughed out loud at a bad acting moment and then I knew it was safe. I knew the acting and script would be bad, but how did he manage to make a movie that looked and sounded so bad? I think this proves that the original movies would have sucked mightily if Lucas had had the technology to make the movies he wanted all along. It was like a video game instead of a movie.

Oh Documad, you just shat all over the place.

PS-your little blurb on Episode Three is sad. You had little to say except 'it was so bad' and 'I can't remember when I've seen a worse movie in a theatre'.

What particular bad acting moment was it your friend laughed at?

You keep saying how bad the sound, acting, and 'looked' was. Insted of making empty comments, why not pick specific events so it actually sounds like you saw the movie?

'I think this proves that the original movies would have sucked mightily if Lucas had had the technology to make the movies he wanted all along.'

What the heck is this? I don't even know where to begin with this. Perhaps you should clarify this statement. How does 'this' prove the original movies would have sucked? Jesus, you really took a dump on my day.

TS, I am truly sorry. I was worked up last night. I'm even more upset today, but I'm more in control. It's a good thing that I cannot easily locate Mr. Lucas.

I thought it was kinder of me to say just a little. (Plus everyone is sick of discussing it and I didn't dare start a thread.) I think the first laugh was over Natalie Portman's hair in the first bedroom scene, so it wasn't really over the acting at that point. Every scene involving the main characters after that had laughable bad acting, except that I thought the guy playing the sith lord/head of the senate was doing an admirable job in difficult circumstances until his face got funny looking and then his acting took a bad turn too. I truly love the first trilogy and I love sci fi and action movies, but if I were to list all of the things wrong with this movie I think it would take a few hours of typing.

You would think that the final big lightsaber fight would have been difficult to ruin, but then Lucas put the two guys on small rafts so that they were surfing on lava for Christ's sake! I mean, that's funny! Even the big payoff of darth vader getting his mask and outfit was ruined by John Williams' overrought score, and the Frankenstein-like manner in which Darth Vader escaped from his table (it reminded me more of Young Frankenstein to be truthful).

Mostly, it suffered from having no characters with true human qualities, no real female role, and not one ounce of humor. And then the last few minutes, with the scaled down, beautiful original score and the real humans standing in front of what appeared to be a real skyline were just a final slap in the face to bring home how fabulous the original movie was.

Lucas (and many other filmmakers) forgot what it is that makes action movies good. It isn't incredibly elaborate but completely fake and unbelievable sets. It's humanity. Why is Aliens one of the best action sci fi movies ever? Mostly because the characters were so good. It's a wild story, but you believe the emotions of the people involed. If it was made today, it wouldn't be as good because they wouldn't have one awesome queen for Ripley to fight--they would have hundreds of computer generated ones. And if Jaws were made today, they would never have the scene on the boat in the middle of the night where the guys compare scars. And Terminator 2 worked because of Linda Hamilton and the kid, as well as the one cool special effect that worked brilliantly. Oh god, and Raiders of the Lost Ark is a great example because Spielberg had to make it fast and cheap to prove he wasn't the out of control brat who make 1941 and he made a wonderful movie but the sequels sucked because he had an unlimited budget then.

(Hey, why did it take so long to build the death star? I can't believe they started building it when Luke was a baby. did they have a labor dispute? And when did R2-D2 lose his ability to jump from spaceships and squirt oil on people, etc? Chewbacca and Yoda look better in the earlier movies, as does everything else because they took all the warm colors out of the new movies. And the planet where the senate meets is hideously ugly, with no green space, as is the wall in every room. And how many senators are there? If there are as many as there were balconies in that silly building, then being a senator was not an important job. I also cannot understand the Jedi code--when can you kill someone in a fight and when is it not permitted? When Ewan McGregor brought Natalie Portman to get Darth Vader, what was he trying to accomplish? Didn't he have to kill Darth Vader? Or if he would have come back would they have excused all the people he had killed? And there no way he could leave him there alive? This jedi code seems to leave a lot of your dangerous foes alive and more upset than ever--stupid code.)

I guess the short answer is that even though I am a presold audience for the Star Wars story, they didn't give me a single character to care about. And a truly ugly movie to look at.

I thought that some of the effects were great, by the way. I loved lots of the droid army things. But they were difficult to watch because the movie was cut to pile too many effects on at the same time--just like a video game, which tells me how little Hollywood and Mr. Lucas think of their audience.

On a positive note, my friends who saw the movie with me last night are going to get together to watch at least part of the original trilogy and I'm 90% sure I'm going to skip my party to hang with them. I am dying to see the original movie again (I have it on VHS without Lucas's "improvements" but I haven't seen it in years).

Last night, I was at the pub with a few mates. Live band there, who have talent, but played crap by Pearl Jam, Korn, perfect circle and bands I don't know. It was both fun and sad. It was sad to see a bunch of folks get drunk and start dancing really bad. I don't understand the concept of getting drunk...a stupid one if I might say.

I dislike beer immensely, but I do like vodka (which I had last night). I still have a slight burning feel in my chest.

I had this guy come up to me saying he was from out of town and that I was doing a good job representing my town. I also seemed like a "chill guy" too, according to him. He obviously must've been drunk. I thought it was nice though and he seemed fine...if he wasn't drunk.

Saw a few old school mates and current ones too, but none I would truly have liked to see. It was fun and loud.

Alright. I just had one of the shittiest ending nights ever. Let me take you there people. Sit down and get ready for a fantastic journey of failure.

So, 8:45pm. We are ready. We have the booze, we have the drink mix, we have all our good clothes on and all that jazz, and off we go to pick her up. We pick her up, a couple of stops later, and we get to the party. So, my initial plan to sit her on the couch and win her with my charm and wit were immediately dashed when one of my good friends decides to whip out the hacky sack. Great. With Plan A out the window, it was time to work off of plan B.

Ok fast forward through 3 hours of hack and liquor later, here we are, soaked in rain. It was time to head home, and ater three hours of hack and flirting later, I was ready to hit the hay. but not before I made my move. It was my chance coming up. I asked her if I could walk her home.

"Sure."

Yes. That would be it. My chance....

But no, there were many obsticles to overcome before this happened. If I didn't do this right, I would end up walking people home. Not good. So, it began. The quest to get her alone. I would finally build up the courage to say something. ANYTHING. The side plan began with me ensuring only a few of us would be walking. Then, disaster struck. Another one of my friends was chatting her up. He offered her a ride home, and she unknowingly accepted. So, the five of us were ready to go, but the interrupting friend suddenly decided to stay at the house and make sure the drunks didnt wreck anything. Actually, the host asked this. Funny thign about the host is, it was his intention to cut him off to give me a chance to say something. God bless him. I was so excited to know for sure I would now have my chance. So, the four of us started walking (the other two knew of my intentions, they set this scenario up for me, although I needed no help) and we flirted some more on the way home. I told her how nice her hair looked, and she blushed a bit. It was going great. We then got to her house. The other two kept walking after I shot them a bit of a 'move out' look. They nodded in approval, then I asked her if I could talk to her about something.

There we were. Standing in front of her house. ME and her. Alone. FInally. I was right there.

"I have you now."

Then, suddenly, like karma was paying me back for being lucky enough to get that close, her mother appeared in the door. We were close. I was sure. She caught her mom in the corner of her eye. SHe turned to her mom, who said something, but not a moment earlier I was too bust staring into her cool gray eyes. She said she had to go, and I tried to get her to stay but it was over. Right there.

FUCK.

I was right there. But there's still tommorrow! Forget the sorrow! Her grad party is tommorrow, and I plan on wasting no time.

To those who wish to flame this, go ahead, but you know anyone can get jammed in this situation, imagine if this were you, and think before you speak.

Until then, I need to sleep.

Tough break there, Toucan! I hear ya... :(

I think the best strategy is to try and get with a girl who is your best friend.

I got majorly drunk with this girl Thursday night. I think we absolutely click and the chemistry is great (we even dig the same type of music and the same type of movies). One can only hope the transition from friend to lover is a smooth one, and the signs are there. We ended the night with our arms around each other, she repeatedly called me a sweetheart and she ended up crashing at my place (she slept on the couch, I slept in my bed... I'm a gentleman ;) ) and I got to kiss her goodnight. :D

We go out again next Friday, actually. If that night doesn't end with me making out with her, I don't know what I'll do. :p

So yeah she asked me out yesterday and we got together for a bit last night and we're going to a party together Thursday. Can't wait. (y)

Oh yeah and that other girl I made a thread about a couple weeks ago was drinkin vodka with me at the park on Friday and then yesterday she texted me and was all like "it was really good seeing you let's get together again soon".

So yep my weekend has been great. :) (y)

Jesus, you really took a dump on my day.
You can't be serious. If somebody's opinion (granted its Documads opinion(y)), on a movie, on a message board, can seriously ruin your day, then how do you deal with real life? I mean maybe it could make you a little bit peeved for a few seconds....but past that and I think you might have a problem there mate :( You better have been joking.

Homsar - Beer is definitely an aquired taste. And it varies so much from beer to beer, perhaps you haven't tried the one best suited to you yet... or maybe you just dont like beer. I dont know, you just seem to be a bit young to be writing off beer (just as I seem to be a bit young to be an expert, but hey I have to know this shit for my job).

Toucan - Dont stress it, it seems like the girl is fairly in to you (at least from what you've written). I would be more worried about that "friend" of yours that was chatting up a woman you are clearly interested in. I think you need to let him know the boundaries and shit.

Droppin and Padster - (y)

My weekend was shit by the way. I worked 20 hours total across friday night, saturday night and sunday morning. And the one night I was supposed to go out (thursday) everybody cancelled because one of their friends cancelled etc (domino theory of cancellations :() But I have Ash on now and its making me happier and more awake despite the 2 hours of sleep i only had last night (fuck stocktakes!!!).

Alright thats my post of substance for the day. :p

he's tried absolutely everything, and i really mean everything (he's had them since he was 3) and nothing works to prevent them, or to stop them once they've come. the only thing that eases the pain is morphine, and we have to call a doctor in to administer it. it's just really hard for him, because he has to work full time, and there is that constant concern that he is going to get one.

Here's a tip for Toucan. You can have this one for free.

When at a gathering try to make sure you are talking to the girl in question and have her full attention. Then go and find somewhere to sit down with only one seat free. Don't offer her the seat or any of that romantic gentleman shit. Just sit down in the seat. If she's at all interested, she will just take a seat on your lap. Then it's just a case of a little leg groping from both parties and eventually you can go for the kiss. (y)

Trust me it works every time. (y)

Toucan my friend, I am about to divulge the secret manuver that has never failed me once.

The Bathroom technique:

When at a party or social gathering and you find yourself laying the groundwork down with a cute girl, but you need to find a few minutes alone with her to make your move, here's what you do. Lay back, don't suffocate her. Try to act like she should be pursuing you a little bit. Wait until she has to use the bathroom. It doesn't matter if she goes with her friends or not, that is when you will also have to use the bathroom. Wait outside the door as if you're waiting in line to use the facilities. When she exits, grab her by the hand and pull her close to you and MAKE YOUR MOVE. It is important for you to not hesitate! This is a limited window of opportunity technique!! No time for second guesses or hesitation.

If everything goes well, the bathroom is usually real close the bedroom. you could duck in there with her for more privacy.
If you make your move and she decides to give you the cold shoulder, don't sweat it, no one has seen it happen and you can move on to the next cutie at the party (y)

Don't you hate it when you've gone to the serious, serious lengths to fix migraines and you get a new/green doctor who hears about them and says something like, have you tried aspirin or reducing salt in your diet? Or something equally fundamental. Fuck you idiota doctor.

I've gotten my migraines down to one every couple of months usually around the start or the end of my period.

My ob/gyn, who is new to the practice, said, "Just don't drink wine before or during your period." I tried not to roll my eyes at her.

I do think diet plays a role in migraines but it's really hard to pinpoint sources without doing drastic things. I think stress plays a role too and that's hard to eliminate. But mostly, I think they just don't know enough about migraines and it's a crap shoot. (My long-time theory is similar to yours--about blood vessel constriction.)

By the way, zorra, migraines have been in my family for as far back as everyone can remember and no one's ever had a stroke. Knock on wood. :)

that was some weak ass shit, chop my boy arm off, he hollaed like a damn baby (that shit really made me feel bad it made my heart stop) then fryed my boy for like a minute str8, but hey they never show a body.....maybe there hope for a MAce Windu spinoff hahahaa, but yea sorry to go off topic, but it was a really good movie, lots of emotion which I liked, more then any of the other 5, felt bad for all the people involved except the emperor hahaha but yep the only thing keeps it at 3 1/2, no Qui Gon=false advertising

but yep

my weekend was interesting - a group of us were at one of the casinos on saturday night and there was a couple having sex at the bar we were at, at a table next to us... the cool part was there were mirrors everywhere, so we didn't have to look directly at them to watch...

were they the old peeps that usualy hang out at casino slot machines? Or some young creative bucks? Details....

I went out with a group of friends once to this really crowded bar and we were all standing at this hi top table...I was wasted and I had no clue what was going on and seemed to loose my friend Chrissy...then found her later under the hi top giving head. In a crowded bar with tons of people-NO ONE noticed.

we were sitting at a high top, they were sitting on lower seats at the bar, she was sitting on his lap (reversed cowgirl) with her skirt hiked up and his dick was out through his zipper... they were young... she kept riding him, then would get off of him and he'd stick his fingers up there... it was crazy.

I went to a pretentious art gallery opening and got kiss-attacked by the owner and exhibitor.

I ran.

I saw a couple of movies.

I finished a book and started a new one.

And I know what was going through MY cat's head at around midnight on Saturday: where can I vomit the biggest and deepest and chunkiest so as to maximize tripping up enree and her bare feet at 4am.

He does it on the bed or rug, when there are perfectly good hardwood and tile floors within reach.

My weekend was good but too short.
