In 1989, Adam "King Ad Rock" Horovitz, starred in a film entitled, "Lost Angels"

Has anyone seen this film? How was he as an actor? Did he try to pursue an acting career?

:p

I only watched Lost Angels and his performance was quite good. He plays a very strange character. I dont remember if hes a dope or just a crazy guy in the film.

A few years ago I was flipping through the channels and saw a very young Adam (pre- Beasties I think) on some drama series. Like a Murder She Wrote or something of that nature. I never recorded it and don't really remember much about it.

I wouldn't call it a waste of time. I like Roadside Prophets better than Lost Angels.

He plays a super small (one-scene only) part in A Kiss Before Dying.

I think even 'a super small' is an overstatement :D

I recommend Roadside Prophets (I've never seen Lost Angels). I thought that the movie would be much worse, but I was nicely surprised because it's not that bad as you may think.

I got Lost Angels and Roadside Prophets on VHS (still wrapped) from eBay for something like $5 each... I remember searching for them on DVD and couldn't find any. I taped A Kiss Before Dying when TBS or USA or one of those TV stations aired it.

Adrock's an excellent actor, btw. Roadside Prophets is hilarious, and his performance was so convincing in Lost Angels.

:p As a matter of fact, I was living in Los Angeles at the time when this movie was being made. Anyway, I saw this on cable television, and the movie had already started, but the lead actor was unmistakeably, Adam H., of Beastie boys. Pretty good, low key, narratively driven( in my humble opinion, pretty good additional accompaniment) 1st person perspective. Well, I really liked it anyway. And all throughout this movie, this persistent thought kept pestering me, where the hell are the other two? Anyway, went off the subject, a bit, I really like this movie. Adam's got charisma, charm, and a relatable kind of personna. Cool movie.

Hey, no problem. Glad I could help out. :)

'Movie Greats' is a movie channel on Foxtel. It could possibly be on show case if it’s like a cable channel thingy, though I have no idea what show case is...
