Do you shop at WalMart? Do you shop at large chain stores? I don't shop at WalMart but I shop at Target, the mall, Sears, Kroger and Schnucks (large grocery stores you may not have them where you live)
I try to patronize small business when I can but I don't make much of an effort to go out of my way and spend more. I want to.

My husband's aunt (my aunt-in-law?) owned a record store until a Walmart opened up in her town. There was no way she could compete and now she works for a mail-order company.
I have shopped at Walmart but we try not to. A Target opened near us and we were happy about it but set all these rules - don't buy any gifts there, etc. Basically, only get cleaning supplies and stuff like that there. But then we learned that they're a red company (http://www.buyblue.org/alphalist.php) so now we're boycotting them too.

I'm surprised that such large companies like Barnes and Noble would want to be too associated with the Democratic or the Republican parties, by giving contributions. You'd think they wouldn't want to offend anybody and wouldn't want to seem biased, especially B&N since it is a bookstore trying to make money selling all those current events books and biographies and the like.

Wal Mart should kill old people, as a policy.

Then they'd be out of greeters. How would anyone know they had walked into a wal-mart?

The piles of corpses lining the aisles, and the putrid, pungent aroma of pure malfeance wafting forth from the stacks of money hidden away behind the walls and doors.
Either that or the sign outside.

Not to be thick, but in what way is it different than now? I mean have you smelled an old person?

Seeing that every business starts small, we should go ahead and boycott the ones with potential to grow, so that they will not grow and possibly hurt any mom & pop stores in the future.

On a sidenote, how can you make political satire at least partially about big corporations ruling everything and everyone and only make them playable with msn video, for which you need to have internet explorer and probably some other junk from MS.

I think what we have here is a failure to communicate.
I am not saying that Wal-mart is justified in their actions.
But if you/we boycott these stores, who is to say that the next small business doesn't turn into another Wal-mart in the future?
We need to correct the problem now instead of letting it continue with the next corperation.

you set caps on size.
caps on corporations...
perhaps even make corporations illegal in entirety...

With the amount of greed that thrives through this country, you know that will never happen.
"Well Mr. CEO, we will be placing caps on your corporation. Your profits will decrease by 25%."
Yeah right.

we CAN do that if it is the will of the people....the majority of the people.
that's democracy....
nothing short of facism or military dictatorship could stop the majority of americans fighting/voting/pushing for Corporate regulation or dismembering.
it's just a matter of "rounding up the troops"......

A crying Glaswegian?

I believe it's someone that greets people for a living.
If I had a job like that any courtesy done after work hours would feel like work and I wouldn't bother with it.
I believe it's someone that greets people for a living.Ah, the opposite of a Bouncer, then?

A bouncer bounces people for a living.
So ehm, sorta.
Actually a bouncer also greets, so a bouncer is a greeter but a greeter isn't a bouncer.

Does Wal Mart have bouncers, too?
