All right I don't wanna sound stupid and all, but considering Brass Monkey came before my time I think it is excusable...but what is Brass Monkey...I am pretty sure it is a drink..but what is it? Is it beer? Or is it a concoction of some sort...I'm pretty confused

Tis indeed a drink. Rum vodka and orange juice and if I make its pretty lethal. Depends on your measures of course.

I was informed by an older cat I work with, that brass monkey was an actuall packeged drink.... He said it was a malt like beverage served in a 22oz bomber.... It was allso orange/tangerine flavoured... I have actually been trying to find someone who has a bottle, full or empty, to sell to me... I have a wierd bottle collecting fetish... Any ways my friend said he has not seen any since he moved from Philly like 15 years ago... And yes its allso a mixed drink as previously stated... PEACE ;)

This is a boring answer but a brass monkey is also a square device with holes in it that was used back in the days of wooden sailing/warships that cannon balls could be stacked on in a pyramid. Obviously the Boys weren't singing about that but, hey, you can never have too much info.

Here is a picture of 3 generations of Brass Monkey bottles. Since I took this picture, a 4th generation bottle has been released. This is some really good stuff. If you've never had it, I highly recommend you getting it.

YEah, you can get it as a packaged drink...visit Muncie, Indiana...I was well known around campus for showing up to the party w/a packaged Brass Monkey....22oz bomber, and yes, orange tangerine flavor w/I think rum and vodka...
That was circa 2000, haven't seen it in awhile

Brass Monkey is a mixed drink.
You can buy pre-mixed Brass Monkey at the ABC store for about $7.00. Although, I disagree that its very good. Its like saying a pre-mixed Margarita is good. Its cheap, not good, especially when you compare it to the real deal. $7.00 for 750ml is not going to get you good stuff.
If you want a good brass monkey you have to mix it yourself using 1 part rum, 1 part vodka and 2 parts orange juice. It costs more depending on how expensive you want to get with the liquor. For vodka you can spend $8.00 on 750 ml of Aristocrat or $30.00 for 750 ml of Grey Goose. For Rum you can spend $6.50 for a shitty bottle of Aristocrat or $14.00 for Bacardi. You can use tang or you can use freshly squeezed orange juice. The better your ingredients, the better the drink. The pre-mixed Brass Monkey uses shitty ingredients. That's why it costs $7.00
Likewise, if you want a good Margarita, you should mix it yourself using Cointreau and Grand Marnier, good Tequillla and real lime juice. Its way better than the pre-mixed shit you buy at the store for cheap.
