USA - SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS (AP) - The man identified by prosecutors as statewide leader of the Latin Kings street gang has been released from jail and put on home detention. The attorney for Michael Cecchetelli, Linda Thompson, argued on Monday that her client's medical needs can't be met at the Franklin County Jail.Springfield federal judge Michael Ponsor then agreed to release Cecchetelli on what he called the strictest conditions he has ever set. Ponsor placed Cecchetelli under electronic monitoring at the house where he will live with his father, Donald Cecchetelli. A computer and cell phones will be removed from the house, and all landline calls traced. Cecchetelli also is prohibited from contact with gang members. Cecchetelli was 1 of 32 people indicted on drug or weapons charges during a law enforcement sweep through Springfield and Holyoke earlier this month.

gangs aren't a problem in brisbane, i've learnt since i was 14 that the most dangerous thing in the streets is prolly me. everything's quiet here.

although a couple of months ago some kid was killed for his shoes in the city :eek:

It's odd to see an Italian as the head of a gang that was originally started in Chicago as a Latino cultural group focused on the advancement and empowerment of Latinos and their culture.

When it started out forty years ago it was a good idea but somewhere along the ways it just got all fucked up.


edit-and I have no idea why they would do something so stupid as to let this guy out.
