Honestly, to a degree it does. Which is lame, I know. But I am trying to be less of a weenie.

Thats because you are a post whore :D

Why is everyone obsessed with post count? I just don't get it. I rarely notice mine or anyone else's. There are people with high post counts that I rarely notice on the board because either they post at different times than I do or they don't post in the types of threads that interest me. There are other people who I actually start stalking, reading threads just because I see that they posted in them, because I have found that more times than not I like what they have to say.

To me, a big post count says 'I'm comfy here.'
and a small one says 'I could fuck off any minute.'
But that's about it.

it's true that when you are meeting someone for the first time, you immediately form some kind of an opinion of them based on their looks and such, but on a message board...post count... that's stupid huh
maybe certain posts can affect your opinion of another member, but basing that on the amount of posts they've made? yeah quality not quantity people. ;)
....says the person with 6000+ posts. lol.

well if their post is weird & i look at their post count & its a small number, i would be all "oh that person's a newbie" but thats about it

Join Date is more important to me. basically if it doesn't say Apr 2003 you may as well die.

I would give this a legit reply but I don't do that in threads started by people with under 1,000 posts

also, if someone's first post is in BG, everyone's real nice and they're like "welcome to the boards!", then when someone posts in BF, you rip them to shreds and probably scare them away =/

Yes...
I have a pretty complicated formula that I use to pre-judge someone before I read their posts.
It's based on join date, post count, average # of posts/day, percentage of BF vs. BG posts. And most importantly...I look at their socks. You can tell a lot about someone from looking at their socks.

i'm not wearing socks! so what do you think of me, laver? :(
edit: hmm as soon as i typed that, my feet suddenly felt colder...weird.
