I rarely watch an hour long drama. But whenever I do, my show is interrupted just as the killer is to be unmasked. There is nothing our local TV stations love more than "severe weather." Apparently a tornado just touched down. Nowhere near me. No pictures. But we're going to have to track this sucker till it gets to Wisconsin.

What were you watching? Could be worse, you could be watching a basketball game minding your own business and NO! OJ chase :(

I know what you mean. Usually, if a storm is going to knock out power in my area, it will be on my night off so that I will have nothing to do but sit in the dark. What a waste. I mean, I could be watching infomercials from 2 til 6 am.

I was watching a law and order rerun so I'm sure I'll have a few hundred more times to see it. But last time it was the last 1/2 hour of some 4 hour mystery miniseries with maybe Valerie Bertanelli in it I think.

Our weather guys sound positively gleeful that perhaps the two storm cells will merge -- they keep repeating "if the two become one". It's kind of sick how they get off on this.

Last year, for the first time in my life I decided I was going to watch the myv music awards to see if the Beastie Boys were going to perform. I sat through all that shit. When the announcer said, "From New York City, The Beastie Boys..." (or whatever he said), my cable went out. For no reason. No storm. I paid the f'ing bill. No reason at all. And it stayed out the rest of the night.

Now that's a very sad story!

In my last apartment, the cable hookup was really bad. I once went 3 solid weeks where I could only get reception on MTV and Fox News. Long story with many repairmen with competing stories by eventually they found that a squirrel had chewed something a long way away. In the meantime I had lost my mind.

Prior to the loss of virtually all of my cable channels (I've never understood why they survived when CNN, my local channels, etc. didn't) I never even realized that I got Fox News!!! And the bonus was that this happened when MTV was doing their beloved back to back Real World marathons. So I finally had the privilege of seeing part of the Miami season and all of the Boston season.

I probably got smarter because I read more. But I remember that it was winter because all the repair people wore boots with big treads and they tracked loads of snow in on my wood floors.

Hahahaha! Real world marathon. :D I just cannot picture you tolerating that garbage.

Every day I do that random channel flipping thing, you know the one when you are really to tired to do anything and you just want to watch something that won't annoy you so you can half tune it out and relax? And every day I ask myself why I continue to pay for cable tv.

Real World Boston was probably the last interesting year. :D I was intrigued because the lumberjack guy went to my law school and was in the same graduating class as a friend of mine and he was from the same small town where another friend of mine was from. Plus I was so desperate for TV by then! I was watching all the crap MTV shows and discussing them at lunch with my appalled coworkers.

I used to turn my TV on and then not pay any attention. Lately I've been putting on my old records instead. But sometimes I let the same side play 4 times without realizing it.

Worst show ever. And I sometimes watch it. She's way too old to pull that shit. They're all way too old.

god i miss severe weather
I was in LA last fall visiting friends who moved there from the midwest. They said even minimal amounts of rain made the news. :D

The "severe weather" is now in Wisconsin but they're still interrupting programming to show us that it's really windy in Menomonie. So if you're in Menomonie, it's time to get out of your mobile home. ;)
