their release order does it for me
(although positions 1 & 2 can be interchanged)

Rage Against the Machine
Evil Empire
Battle of Los Angeles
Renegades

It took me awhile to warm up to Renegades and that warming up happened more quickly once I learned that the songs on it were covers. I knew that some of them were but I didn't know they all were until I read it (here--someone from BBMB, maybe it was you, told me).

I really like Evil Empire, but I got to say Renegades is my favorite, even though they are all covers.... I think its because they did some of my fav songs and artists... Anyone who can rock a DEVO song so well gets total props... PEACE :)

self titled.

evil empire is good too, battle had like 6 good songs.

some of the covers on renegades are awesome (how I could just kill a man, pistol grip pump) others I could do without

Actually, Audioslave cant even be compared to RATM . Everytime I hear Audioslave It seems that Chris Cornolio (hahaha....I like that) is about to cry. Hes a baby cry!!!

I feel sorry for that band. They'll always live in RATM's shadow.

They should have gone incognito--they might have been accepted more easily without the comparisons and expectations.

Then again, they might not have gotten any attention.

(What I've heard from them is mediocre. Nothing memorable. Maybe I've just only heard the stuff they release as singles, which sometimes are not the best pieces.)

I work in a job where a coworker listens to the Rock station on the radio all night long. I hear two or three Audioslave songs every time we work together. They make me want to stab my ears. Fortunately I only work with him a couple times a week.

The other day they played RATM 'No Shelter' though. That was a happy few minutes.

I have had similar urges but I tamed down saying so because Audioslave's two fans live on & read this MB.

I love that song. I only heard it for the first time it a few months ago. It was somewhat of a cruel discovery, though, because I was coming off a particularly tough-to-shake Zack withdrawal and then that song yanked me back in again.

I love the lines:

"American eyes, American eyes
View the world from American eyes
Bury the past, rob us blind
And leave nothin behind"

Theyre great!!!
