The biplane could be a couple - North by northwest / Capricorn one to name but two.

Crack in the road could be any disaster movie ever. Could be Ghostbusters, could be the new war of the worlds film, etc etc.

Guy in the tower looks like rambo to me, not a sniper. The guy in the phonebox looks like a pirate.
