Duran Duran are on right now, bleuch!
I thought it was gonna start on the telly at 4pm local time and I went to get a pizza to eat while watching. While waiting for my food I started reading the paper taht was lying there and there was a huge story about the shebang and it said it started allready at 3pm  I asked the girl behind the counter to switch the channel on the telly and there was Coldplay with Richard Ashcroft doing Bittersweet history! And that was one of the main things I wanted to tape from the show! Have I really missed U2 already? When I got home Elton John just got on stage and then Pete Doherty made a fool of himself (did he really plan to burn down the Union Jack? He had a lighter in his mouth when he got on and then threw the flag over the TV-camera).
Gotta check out their website if there's a real schedule.
Cool, Duran Duran (y) :p
Ooooh, Bill Gates is gonna song now. Maybe.

You'd think Gates could afford someone that will tell him what to wear. He even managed to look like a big geek at a rock concert.

Do we get a 10 minute delay here?
I found the list of what' being shown on the Swedish TV (http://svt.se/content/1/c6/41/61/28/live8_ok.html) and I've missed Björk as well :(

He probably doesn't know he's wearing it. Peter Buck probably draws it on whilst Stipe is sleeping, then he gets off stage and looks in the mirror and says "Fucking hell, Peter! Not again!".
Maybe.
That would actually make it ok.

I didn't catch Björk, but I've seen Duran Duran, REM, Green Day and Stereophonics and I'm loving all of it.
A lot of these artists, I would never buy their cd or consider them to be great but now that I see them live I think they're pretty awesome.

What I'm looking forward to are MUSE, KANYE WEST (but re-start of Monarch of the Glen starts at the same time on another channel, and I have to see that!!!!), ROXY MUSIC, KILLERS (yeah I found them on the list after all, at 21.46 my time), PLACEBO, JET, THE WHO, THE CURE, and hrmmmmm, that's about it.

I'd agree if they were broadcasting footage from Bonnaroo. It's not as though this is the first we've seen or heard of the bands that are playing this fucking thing. Don't get me wrong, a lot of the bands at Live 8 are good and I appreciate the cause and whatnot, but most of this is just media hype and the coverage of it is horrible.

I'll post it here so anyone who's interested can read it,...
Arrived when Black Eyed Pease were on.......meh, they were kinda cool, but not really that inspired by them.
then Don Cheadle introduced Bon Jovi......Livin on a prayer and It's my life were pretty good, they definetly had the crowd into it.
Destiny's Child - we were pushing our way through a crowd trying to get closer to the stage, didn't get to see much of them, but I remember them doing Survivor and Say my name.
then Kanye West, Kanye tore that stage up! Jesus Walks, All falls down, and another song that escapes me right now......very good set.
Jimmy Smits introduced Will Smith.....Will came out being carried on a fucking throne to the Rocky theme. The crowd loved it. Jiggy with it, Switch, and got the crowd to sing all the lyrics to the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air song, then he did my favorite, Summertime.
then it was Toby Keith, all I remember was he was wearing a trucker hat and singing country songs....didn't pay attention
Dave Matthews Band......they sounded good live but again I wasn't really paying attention to them
Linkin Park, this was the band I was waiting for and they did not dissappoint. I lost track of all the songs they played because they first did a solo set, and then they did the entire "collision course" album with Jay Z........ S I C K!!
Def Leppard, I felt like I was back in 1988 all over again,....and it was fuckin awesome! Everyone was singing along to "Pour some sugar on me".....and when I say everyone, I mean everyone, black, white, young, and old....it was really something to see.
then some band called "Jars of Clay".....they're from Rochester NY of all places  Aimee's orthodontist is the father of the drummer.....they kinda sucked
then Sarah McLachan....meh
Maroon 5......meh
the only person who either one of us wanted to see who had yet to perform was Stevie Wonder so we decided to leave and skip Stevie.
