i would never had guessed, but this series of collections is kick ass. Allmand Brothers Band, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Son House, Robert Johnson, B B King, JB Lenoir, Taj Mahal, Keb'Mo', Bessie Smith, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Muddy Waters.

they all get a whole album spanning their recording careers, and it is spectacular. I have Son House and Muddy Waters, but i have listened to others, and i suggest everyone checks out as many of these albums as possible.

The Blues had a baby and they named it Rock 'N Roll.

That sounds really great. I wanted to checkout that PBS series and I see it's coming to our local PBS station on July 8th....again. Darn if it didn't premiere back in 2003. I missed it all the first time.

The whole 7 part series is re-running through the summer up here. Martin Scorsese knows how to capture the film...and the Blues knows how to capture the ears.

I'll be recording da thing through out the summer now, thanks.

I have no real knowledge of the blues. I enjoy so many artists who were influenced but not the real deal. It's one big huge gap in my musical education.

I noticed the DVDs of the series are available at my library.
