They have a few good songs, maybe one full album of good songs, Back in the Saddle comes to mind. But to me, they always seemed like a dime store Rolling Stones.

I used to worship Joe Perry. But now he's kind of scary.
The last song of theirs I liked was Jaded, and I liked it against my better judgment. I simply couldn't help myself.

"Toys in the Attic" was a pretty cool album. And how can you not love the way Run-DMC revitalized "Walk This Way"?
But yeah, they're basically a band with some good stuff here and there who should've packed it in a long time ago.

Walk This Way will of course be what they are remembered for
although, i do forget about that until someone mentions it

It's actually very easy. :p My friends all hated that record and the consensus was that they had fucked with a classic. I did like that the remake helped rap get on MTV and Aerosmith needed the publicity for their comeback. It was a genius marketing move.
I think that Aerosmith's best move was being in the Wayne's World sketch on SNL.

If I had a dog or cat named Aerosmith I would take a quiet walk with the amimal in question and ever so gently place a bullet between it's eyes
RIP Aerosmith ~ You suck

DDD, i agree - Pink is enjoyable. i was just thinking about how much they suck, though, yesterday. i mean, how can you defend the CLASSIC ROCK POWERHOUSE that brought us "Dude Looks Like A Lady"? i mean, have you HEARD the saxophone in that track??

Really simple. Rap and rock should never be mixed. Ever.

I hope the irony of posting this on a Beastie Boys Message Board isn't lost on you.

yeah cause they did like 6 rockish songs totally separate from the rap tracks and some 11 minute long punk album no one bought.

Ha yeah, I remember this garbage.
Oh shit, it was called Revolution X. The SNES version looks like vomit and I hear that in each level you get to listen to the chorus from a different Aerosmith song.... looped over and over to brainwash you into listening to more Aerosmith. OMG AEROSMITH ARE THE OPRESSORS BRAINWASHING THE YOUTH!!!1!!
The video for Pink was pretty cool. Everytime I see Steven Tyler I remember that my mother told me he ate poo on stage once. I don't know why she felt a rumor like that needed to be mentioned to a six year old.

Ummm... they've done rock-ish songs on "Licensed to Ill" (for godsake, they sampled ZEPPELIN), there was numerous rock songs on "Check You Head" and "Ill Communication" and even "Hello Nasty" had crossover appeal to the rockers on a few tracks.
Don't forget they started out as a hardcore band.
They've been mixing the rap and the rock for eons. That's why half this board is rock fans, and the other half are hip-hop, and most here enjoy both genres anyway.

It's the new math, half are rock fans, half are hip-hop fans, the other 50% don't get it. ;)

Aerosmith was really good before they got off drugs and went all MTV. Toys in the attic, Rocks, and Aerosmith's greatest hits are very good albums.
The last album I enjoyed from them was "Permanent Vacation".

PUMP. A far greater poodle-rock opus than, say, Dr. Feelgood.
If Bonham hadn't died, this would be the album Zep would have hoped to make at the end of their career.
It's no Appetite for Destruction, but Love in an Elevator is actually my entrance music.
That's directed at you, Jesus.
