Even though he gets pooped on this board a lot, I have to agree. His more serious songs are my favorite of his, but I find his fart humor songs are good for one or two listens but after that it gets repetitive. The video for Stan is the best, IMO. I also think that is his best song.

Agreed. Stan is also my fav. Em track by far. Unfortunately, I'm fond of 95% of his shit.

Stan is a very well-written song, but musically it's pretty unoriginal. I mean lyrically its quite original, but musically they basically jacked the entire beat AND CHORUS from another song that was currently on the radio at the EXACT SAME TIME, added a bassline, and shipped. It doesn't do a lot for me.

I used to really like him, but he's kind of lost it, IMO. The last album was pretty weak. It's like he has nothing to say anymore.

Have you heard his new single? What a pile of fucking wank that is. It's not funny, interesting, innovative or in any way satisfying. He appears to have now fully turned into a talentless knob-head.

As his loyalist fan its nice to read a post that isnt just talking shit about him. Eminem is very talented and very good at what he does. Plus he keeps white girls like me happy :) just kidding. But he is extremely talented and just becuase one may not agree with or like what he has to say they always have to admit that its talent.
By the way- I get to see him in 1 week from today :D :D :D

It didn't sample the chorus of Dido's "Thank You." It was just the first few lines of the first verse. Also, I don't think it really "jacked" the entire beat of that song...have you ever listened to "Thank You" the whole way through? It sounds very different at the chorus part and is actually kind of an leisurely, happy type of song. This surprised me after hearing the sample in Stan, as they managed to use one part of a light, uplifting song to make a dark, sad one.

I agree. It's sad, since I do think he's a good rapper.

Yeah, it is pretty bad. I guess it's supposed to be funny, but I don't find it so.

yeah I meant the entire chorus of Stan is a sample from the Dido song, not that it's the entire chorus of the Dido song itself. Acknowledged, it isn't a P.Diddy grade beat-jacking, but it's not a particularly creative beat IMO. Well-made beats should never be that obvious an homage to the source - Stan sounds like an Eminem remix of the Dido song.

Oh, gotcha.
At the time, I guess I didn't see it as a very obvious "homage" because I didn't hear the Dido song until after I'd heard Stan. Radio stations around here didn't play her song until a few months after Stan had come out, though I'd heard it was the opposite elsewhere.

i agree. he's an amazing rhymer in my opinion, really talented. The Eminem Show was my favorite cd for a long time. after awhile of listening to his stuff over and over it got sort of depressing and repetitive though. i still think his music is awesome but i got bored of hearing about haley haley haley horrible girlfriend horrible mom horrible life haley haley haley. i didnt end up buying his new cd. his new singles were ok though, Ass Like That is pretty funny.
