and i'm in it right now.
it's ok, but it's really loud because we're right next to a street. and the water pressure is pretty bad.
oh, and we couldn't get half our furniture up the stairs :(
but yeah.
nice one. (y)
well we've sold our house and plan on renting. there's a house real close by that isn't being advertised yet but mum's in progress of talking to the tenants now. which is good. a lot of stress off her mind.

yeah, luckily we only have a 6 month lease, so if any worse problems arise, we can find a better place

my house is right near a street, so you can always hear cars driving by, no matter the time of night. i can't get to sleep if its too quiet actually...
good luck with this one though, im sure it will be fun.
so when is the first kegger?

yeah, i hope i get used to the noise.
our landlords live right underneath us and can probably hear us fart, so it's definitely not a party house

I've lived here in this house far removed from the street for going on 20 years now. I have no clue what I'd do if I had to move back out onto the street.
Congrats tho Zorra. Hope you and Joe have lots of fun in the house. (really quietly)

they had expensive wine delivered to them this morning, but they weren't home so i had to take the package. so i've got a case of wine in my hallway

Sounds cool (y), except for the no parties thing. Are you sure the landlords aren't total party animal, up for anything types. Just because they drink expensive wine doesnt mean they dont get totally smashed off it and start singing khe sanh at the top of their voice.

Maybe the whole "no parties" thing is good, because you won't have freeloaders stealing your booze.
Anywho, congrats on the new place youse guys. (y)

Congratulations!
You'll get used to the noise and will probably get to a point where you can't sleep without it. I grew up next to train tracks and when we moved to the suburbs, it was hard for me to get to sleep with all that quiet.
Have fun in your new house!
that's such great news, zorra! congrats to you and zount. :)
my apartment is mere feet away from train tracks. i love the trains though, and they never wake me up. bobby and the kids aren't bothered by the trains either. so, i'm sure that you'll get used to the noise from the street very soon.
bobby and i will be moving in together soon. i go up to canada in less than 2 weeks. i'll be up there for a week, and then we'll drive back here with his stuff. :)

As both a landlord and someone who likes to throw the occasional party, it's not unreasonable for you to want to have a 'housewarming'. The thing to do is to talk to them before you schedule it. Just say something like "We'd really like to have a housewarming party and we don't want you to get the idea that we're some kind of crazy people who will be doing this all the time and have strangers traipsing in and out of the place at all hours." Agree on a date with them and a time at which things will 'wind down' , and of course make sure they know that they are invited, and I can't see why they'd have any major objection.
