i took half a vicodin. im very relaxed but in pain still.

i have an apt at 5pm. im not driving. i have too much pain. it hurts like crazy. like little gnomes drilling at my nerve endings and then biting them and dancing on them and every once in a while, hitting them really hard with jack hammers.

A few years ago, I had an injury and chipped a molar. The dentist said that it was close to needing a root canal but we erred on the side of caution and didn't do one. A couple of weeks later, the tooth abscessed and that hurt big time. Despite getting novocaine, I could still feel him poking around in there during the root canal. He showed me some accupressure to do and it made a huge difference.

The funny thing is that the area where he had me apply pressure (on a part of my hand)...that area had been hurting for about 2-3 days before the tooth abscessed. Clearly, there was a relationship between that part of my hand and my tooth.

Anyway, that URL above shows how to do it. It's easy...you just apply light pressure to the area between your thumb and index finger. The second page of that URL shows you where and how to do it...good luck.

if you have an abscess dont smoke anything! the suction will make it worse!
if not, somke away it will help a little! ever hear of electro collodial silver?
its a natural antibotic. thats what i use when i'm waiting for my dentist visit and i am in pain. it helps tremendously! its good for alot of things but dont take too much! its very strong!

^and don't take if or more than 7-10 days. oil of oregano will work as well and is actually a stronger antibiotic but it tastes like liquid ass.

That sucks, I'm sorry. I've been there, though. My tooth died after getting a filling and I got an abcess because I am dumb and did not go to the dentist right away. It was the worst pain ever, when it was at its worst I was using anbesol, vicodin, and advil all at the same time. Nothing made it stop hurting.

If you're not feeling pain, it might be because of the vicodin. :)

(You'd probably know it if you had an infected tooth if you weren't taking pain killers. Painful. Throbby. Although a relative of mine had an infected tooth and she didn't know it. She felt a bump on her gumline and went to the dentist the same day. He said that it would just have been a matter of days before the pain started.)

You'll know if you have one. On me it was a huge lump on my upper lip. I just woke up that way. At first I thought it was just swollen because I used too much anbesol or something. I called my dentist and he was like, yeah, you need to come in right now. Its basically a big infection that fills up with blood and pus. Gross.

im on vicodin. very strong vicodin. im gonna take a valium too. and stop thinking about evil things and pain and concentrate on happiness and sleep.

the only pain im in is from finals, just a couple more days to go and im finished, although you could say ive been on break since last week cuz all im really doing is using the residual energy left in me from the semester. and i really dont give a shit, i just wanna finish already.

i had an abcessed tooth once... lower back molar. it was really bad. i codulnt go to the dentist right away (had to find someplace we could work out a deal with payments) and i coudlnt wash my face for awhile because i coudlnt touch that side of my face. had to sleep differently and everything so nothing touched my face.

everyone talks about how painful it is to get a root canal... for me it was complete relief. all they gave me was some novicane and gas, no knock-you-out type drugs, and when they drilled it and got to the inside, i felt pus start pouring out and immediatly the pain started to go away.

it felt a little weird, having a little pick thing shoved down in my tooth to rip the neve endings out, but god did it feel so much better to get the pressure off of them.

i dont think i even took any painkillers afterwards. maybe some tylenol... i was on antibiotics though.
