Teacher jailed on suspicion of lewd acts with teenager
CHINO HILLS - A junior high school teacher was arrested Monday on suspicion of committing lewd acts with a 13-year-old girl.
According to San Bernardino County Sheriff's officials, Adrian Kist, 22, a teacher at Townsend Junior High, was seen by the victim's parents and neighbor on Sunday committing lewd acts with the girl.
Chino Valley Unified School District spokeswoman Julie Gobin said that the district, which was closed for the holiday, did not have any information about the incident.
"Tomorrow when we have something in hand from the Sheriff's department, at that point we'd take a look at what action we'd need to take to protect our students," Gobin said.
The Townsend Junior High Web site lists Kist as the assistant band director. Officials from the school could not be reached late Monday night for comment.
Kist was transported to the West Valley Detention center, said Sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy Beavers. The crime he is accused of is a felony.
"He'll either remain there until his arraignment or he could post bail," Beaver said.
