The station that I listen to USED to play adverts for a local head shop. I don't know if they do anymore, I don't listen to the radio as often now. :o

Wanna know how greedy and desperate ClearChannel are for an advertising buck,

Yesterday on my 6 hour commute to NY, which took 7 hours thanks to several accidents and nasty weather, I happened to tune in some random radio station.
They announced their call letters as "W P R T 95.7........A Clear Channel station" between what seemed like every song.

but I digress,.....

So this 95.7 FM channel actually had an advertisement for another Radio Station which I switched to. I understand that both stations were probably owned by ClearChannel, as most of the stations on the radio are nowadays, but it just made me laugh to myself a bit.
The idea that some moron, cut-throat salesman would actually take a rival station on as an advertiser and customer and the management would allow it.

One station here did until the one shop, which was about two blocks from where I live, closed.

Then the other shop closed.

Now we're pretty much headless.

how sad... and where are you for the record...I don't want to find myself in a headshopless territory! oh no! you never know when I'm gonna need to buy a 15 foot bong on the spur of the moment.

I think it's interrresting that they advertise headshops now. I mean does anyone know someone who actually smokes tobacco out of thes things?

what really bothers me about thse commercials are that they always use the sterotypical stoner/surfer duuuuude voice. it's fucking retarded. I don't know any stoners that talk like that. I know successful business men who smoke pot, it's not just loosers doin it, ya know? I know grandma's who smoke pot too...why not have granny sell some water pipes? why can't they just use a normal voice that would appeal to the wide variety of pot smokers, not just the trendy 18 year olds?
