Today I suddenly got an urge to listen to a few tracks off their Room On Fire album, which is only a shadow of their first album, but still great; I just love the way their so catchy and I wanna sing along to every song
I think, Is This It, is probably one of the best debut albums I've ever listened too and i really like every track. There third album is supposedly set for release in January 2006- I cant wait!!! :)

They bore me. Singing/playing like you don't care just doesn't work for me.

Got love for The Strokes.
I don't know why "Room On Fire" got hated on in some circles. It was a great follow-up!

What's your beef? Never seen 'em.
I loved the debut. Didn't get Room on Fire. Might get it now though just to listen.

Meh. To me they are just mediocre. I respect them though.

3 or 4 good songs.
20 or so wasted pounds on 2 below average albums.

Overrated.
Wrong, douche.
They're overhyped. And underrated for that very reason. It's their gift and their curse; they get a lot of support from their record company and loads of publicity from the media, especially in the UK. Then felchers like you skim through their album and think, "NAH, I think I'll go back and listen to some more PEARL JAM instead".

i was really looking forward to seeing them at BFD last year. i enjoy them a lot...but Julian was so trashed that he was basically falling all over himself onstage and slurring every lyric...we left halfway through the set.

I saw them about a year ago. The crowd was nuts, the band was pretty mellow and the set was short (45 minutes or so). There was a clear glass ceiling at the venue, so you could see a reflection of the whole crowd from way above and it just looked like a great big human whirlpool.

"when we were young , i'll admit that we had fun.. always, always"
(y)
Great song
Good lyrics
Badly misquoted
"When we was young, oh man did we have fun.....always, always"
I particularly like, "And now my fears, they come to me in 3s, so I, somtimes."
Or......
"We missed the last bus, I'll take the next train, I try but you see it's hard to explain.
I say the wrong things, but act the wrong way, I like it right here but I cannot stay.
I watch the TV, forget what I'm told, I am too young, they are too old.
The joke is on you, this place is a zoo, you're right it's true."
And that video is fucking gangster.

You're 100% correct (but NOT about the felching part. Shut up, cosmo  ). The Strokes are boring as shit and to even bring Pearl Jam up in discussion as if you're comparing the two is ridiculous.
i really like them.
i saw their show in sydney before bdo last year, and i have to say, i really wasnt expecting much- just going by the live stuff id seen of them ie, looking bored etc,
but they put on a really good show. i turned into a hormonal teenager for some reason. hmmm
so at bdo my sister and i lined up for ages and got soaked in the raine listening to muse and the hoodoo gurus so we could be front row. and it was sooo good.

I bet you used to stay up late at night listening to your Yield album on your headphones thinking to yourself, Hot Damn! These brothas still got it!

I won the first album and a T-shirt on a crossword competition on the radio (about music of course, and I could make it without the griddle as well). I enjoyed it for a while, it's been a long time since I listened to it tho'. Never bothered to listen to the second one. The first time they played here was at the Accelerator Big One just before they got big. I had to leave before they got on because I had to go to grandma's funeral... I got so fed up with the hype so I lost interest in them pretty quick. Didn't even bother to go to see them the next time they came over, thought the tickets were too expensive.

Arse-twisting dross from a group of hapless snotbags.
Listen to real music, like the Stooges or Buzzcocks instead.
