I spent a long time in that door. The whole...light, dark thing in an instant had me going for at least 15 minutes
True story.

14 hours? uhh that's not healthy. the most i ever spent was about 8 or 9 hours straight, and that wasn't in the b/w darkroom but the color darkrooms. those take a lot longer.

That was by far the cheesiest pick up line I've ever seen. I'm going to work it into my rotation. :p

I miss being in a dark room :( I know that when I have enough money in the future, I want my house to have a dark room.

I can't take a photo. In more ways than one. I can't be the subject of a good photo (I think I wiggle around too much and apparently, I always make a stupid face so it rarely winds up looking like me).
And I can't compose a reasonable photo. I give people exotic tree hats and expansive, generous backgrounds, rendering them as miniatures of themselves.
I can't work a digital camera. I hate it when other people can or think they can and wind up fiddling with the settings for 5 minutes while I'm fucking sitting there trying hard to not wiggle and not make the stupid face.
The concept of photos--taking or giving: bad for me. I cringe when the camera comes out. My friends joke that they're going to send me to a professional photographer just to see if it's possible to make this work. "Look, there's a picture of enree running for the hills."

apparently, my face is very expressive. half the class wants to take pictures of me. surprisingly enough, im not that comfortable with having my picture taken by anyone, except maybe myself. i have never ever ever been so sick of my face though (i know, you guys were sick of it ages ago).
i know 14 hrs is terrible. i had to finish my project. i had planned it out better, but when i was in there thursday, i broke down and started crying hysterically in the floor of the darkroom after an hour in there (always a good place to have a mental breakdown).
i wish i could take photo forever. it's great. i may not be a great photographer or have much of an eye for amazing photos, but it's such a precise art... and quite addictive. at the end of the 14 hrs, i left cause i wanted candy. i might have stayed an extra 3 or 4 hrs if i hadnt been hungry.
today, i saw the sun.

devoted 2 solid years of my life to it and thousands of dollars
i'll always have the photo bug and am really proud of the things i learned, and damn if i can't take an amazing pic and develop and print it all by myself, and the beginning students would ask ME for help on their prints but...
it's best kept as a hobby
i can't stand dark rooms. love photography. but definatley can't stand being in the dark room.

it is very much the most expensive class ive ever taken. i think so far, ive spent about 600 dollars in supplies. and it's a 5 week class. and i bought the relatively inexpensive stuff from b&h and i had a LOT of stuff from the time i took beginners. it's an expensive hobby. but so are drugs.

I just finished watching One Hour Photo with Robin Williams on FX. That was... different.

it's actually full of some really great photo theory principles, but the obvious contrast between his bland, colorless life and the exciting, vibrant life of the woman was sort of driven home with a sledgehammer. interesting, different movie to say the least, but i still have trouble seeing the Genie as a bad guy. god, i hated Insomnia.

I can only think of two things I could do 14 hours straight.
A dark room ain't one.
When I get a dwelling also, it's gonna have a dark room

Remember the episode of the Brady Bunch where Greg becomes the football team's photographer? He takes a picture of the play that cost his team the game, and it indeed shows that the opposing team's receiver was out of bounds, so him and Mike decided to take action into their own hands, Reynolds style.
I certainly remember it.

whenever i see brady bunch reruns, i think of the 90's movie, where greg and marcia kiss, and it grosses me out and i have to change the channel.
ewwww.

Really? I thought Williams did well. And I didn't really see him as a bad guy. Even though "bad" is a completely subjective term. Creepy... little scary... but not bad. I felt his character was quite pitiable.

How about in SAW when leigh whannel's character was in the darkroom when his power was cut off and he uses his camera flash to see around the house for the bad guy then that crazy thing comes out of nowhere and scares me to tears everytime?
