i had told them a few weeks ago that i was going to be driving up to canada next week. they were both pissed that they couldn't go.

anyway, i told them today that bobby is flying in on thursday and then he and i were driving up to canada. josh asked why we were driving and i said that bobby was going to be moving back here with me and so we'd need to bring his stuff.

noelle started bouncing up and down on the bed on her knees, and josh smiled really big (he's pretty reserved, like his father). i told them i understood it might be a little weird to them at first with bobby living here all the time and josh said "no it won't. we really like bobby." noelle nodded her head in agreement because she was extremely busy with the whole bouncing on the bed thing.

then there were about 5 million questions.

"so, bobby gets to come here for free?"
"he's not gonna work for a while? is he rich?"
"could he jump over the motorcycle again? maybe he could jump over the new one, because i think it's bigger."

The story of Bef and Deaf is straight out of a modern-time fairy tale. Two souls, destined to meet, live mediocre lives until POW!! They collide and sparks fly. Fiery passion and true love conquer all in this steamy passionate love story :D :D :D :D

i'd knew they'd handle it as such. of all the uncertainties of such a big life change, isn't it nice to know that two of the most important people related to it are as excited as you are? those kids are priceless.

That's awesome that your kids are enthusiastic. Cuz lord knows if they were my kids, and they didn't like my new husband-to-be, they'd be on the black market later that day.

bet you could trade them for a car, diana. :)

But does Dr. Deaf know what HE'S getting into? I don't mean the kids. I mean being susceptible to cross examination on a somewhat regular basis.

he's suffered through that^ several times. also through just a general argument on my behalf where he ends up saying "ok, case dismissed."

i told my children's father that bobby is moving here when he came to pick the kids up tonight. he said "ok." then i told him not to tell the kids, that bobby and i were going to tell them later, but that bobby and i are getting married as well. his response? "you're gonna marry that dude?" i said "yes." then he started being a little juvenile and did this little laugh and said "good luck with that" as he drove off. this from a man who has yet to have the courage to meet the man that will be in his children's life.

Minton posted that "case dismissed" thing when he closed a thread on me once. :)

Poor Dr. Deaf! It will be good if he can keep his sense of humor--and if he never agrees to pass oral information on from someone else to you. That's usually where the trouble starts.

I bet I could get a car. 2-3 kids can get you a nice caddy nowadays.

For a minute there, I thought your ex-hubby went gay, and you're coming down on him for not meeting a decent man yet. HEHAHAHHEHAH :(

How do you think a meeting with Toby and Bobby would go? Cordial, or throwing down punches in one last attempt for him to get you back as his woman?

Have you told your children that when Bobby relaxes around the home, he wears wooden shoes? I think that is going to be a shock to them :(

Beth

oh, toby wouldn't want me back -- i'm tainted. i've had sex with another man. i would like to think it would have been cordial for the sake of the children. noelle is dying for bobby to meet her daddy. now i think it just won't go down for a while, and when it finally does, toby will call me later and say "dreadlocks? are you fucking kidding me?" and then he'll comment on how he (toby) makes gobs of money. at which point i'll ask what that's doing for him and whether he was able to keep his wife with that.

i think the kids will be ok with the wood shoes, echewta -- it's not like he's still whittling them out of those logs we found. however, when they finally see him pop his fake eyeball out, they're gonna freak.

A road trip from Orlando to Canada and back sounds absolutely brutal.
I'm thinking around 30 hours just to get to the border.
If you kids don't hate each other by the end of a trip like that then you know it's gonna last for a long time. (y)

Ex hubby's just all full of wounded pride, that you are able to get on with your life and be with another man. He may not want you, but he doesn't want anyone else to either. Basically, you're just haven't suffered deeply enough or for a long enough period of time to salve his ego. How dare you move on and be happy. You bitch. ;)

Beth, it sounds cool that the kids are so excited about Bobby moving in.
It's just a shame that your ex is being such a dick about the whole thing.

Tainted? And he's expecting to find a non-tainted woman in this day and age? He'd have to find a 13 year old!

But on to more important matters, are you going to be Mrs. Deaf, or is he going to convert to Mr. Beth? I know traditionally the woman takes the man's name, but you should maybe change it up. Mr. Beth has a good ring.

Wait no! Mrs. Deaf-Beth. Write that one down, and start changing your mailing labels and checking account now. kthx.

crystal, that was hilarious.

diana: tainted because it happened after him. what happened before him was like it never happened.

while he was being very juvenile, i have to imagine he was likely shocked and probably hurt. he's a very good father and he's a decent guy, just not the guy for me.

anyway, what's important is that my kids are excited and happy, i'm excited and happy, and i think i can speak for bobby and say that he is excited and happy as well.

i really don't know.

i had them meet bobby when they did so that they'd get a chance to know him before he moved here. i pretty much assumed they would dig him because of the type of person that he is, and luckily i was right.
