Not sure if I broke my ankle playing football yesterday. My folks say it's just a sprain and it probably is. It sure is pissing me off that I can't walk comfortable though.

DON'T TAKE WALKING FOR GRANTED!!!

nah, i only break hearts.

seriously though, i once broke my pinky toe kicking my brother's best friend when i was in 7th grade. i had to cut the right toe out of all my shoes. it's still a little wonky looking. i've sprained and twisted and popped both ankles enough times to qualify as a clumsy idiot though.

i've broken lots of bones...but what hurt the most, more than breaking any bones, was tearing my ACL! (n)

i'm a clutz :o

Thats out for the season in football. Owch.

No bones broken for me. Although I have strained my back pretty bad playing cricket, to the point where I can't bowl anymore.

I've broken stuff (fingers, toes) and have torn stuff (tendons and muscles).

When I distance run, I wear a neoprene wrap on my right knee. Without that, I can only run 3 miles; with it, I can go forever. After a couple of hours of running, it gets tight/hard to get off. I have snapped the tendons on two fingers a few different times in trying to get that thing off.

The second time it happened, I was maybe 5 miles into a 20-mile run. I went to adjust the brace and snapped the tendon on my middle finger and did it in a way that my finger went at a very funny angle. I took my hair tie out, found a stick, splinted it, and finished the course.

When you start treating your injuries like that is when you know you're in trouble. :)

I snapped my Achilles last year. That's the only time I've actually ever been hurt seriously. I've sprained my ankles hella times through the years though. The worst was when I was drunk and I remember doing it but, it didn't really hurt too bad. I rolled it. But I woke up the next day and DAMN!!! I think if you broke your ankle you probably wouldn't be able to walk and if you are walking on a broken ankle... stop.

Nose 3 or 4 times, 2 ribs, wrist, cracked my head open once, umm pretty much every finger and toe at least once. Most of them are from wrestling, boxing, Hapkido, and fights. The wrist actually was the worst one though and that happened falling out of a palm tree.

Nope, but I've ripped all the tendons in my arm before.

Don't worry about me! (or the pork chops) :) I'll wrap myself in cotton wool just to make sure...

But it sounds like you were having fun immediately before.

I sure was...it was like 3 or 4 years ago Spring Break Miami Beach FL. I flew down there with a friend to meet up with some other buddies I had before I joined the military. Anyway we hit the strip one night and walked by palm tree talkin bout "Oh man we should get some coconuts that would be sweet" then shrugged it off. Several hours and many many shots/beers later we're walking back to the hotel and I stop like "Oh shit we forgot the coconuts! Someone boost me up" so I wind up about 20 feet up in this fucker and fall. I came down on my wrist and head. I stood up and it hurt like hell so I was like "I need some more beer fast" So we went back to the hotel and drank some more.

I woke up the next moring and my wrist was turned downward the wrong way at a 90 degree angle and swollen to the size of a base ball. I then decided it was time to go to the doctor. 3 doctors, 2 states, 1 surgery, and a hell of a lot of arthritis later it makes for a fun story.

Come to think of it, I did crack someone's ribs a few years ago... does that count? :o

I've only had one broken bone, in my hand. And it got so bad that my entire hand curled up and I couldn't move it, and it was in constant pain.

I think if you are walking on it, and it's been a day or more, most likely, you did not break it.
