So yesterday, I was in L.A. at the Melrose swap meet (so many girls, my goodness) and when I left the gated area, I had to wait to cross the street. I noticed 2 guys standing on the other side of the driveway where the cars come and go to park for the meet. They had some wicked high powered digital cameras that would make Cosmo wet her pants from here to Santa Barbara. Anyway, one guy was flagging some SUV across the street and the other was talking on his "walkie phone" (hate those). I stayed where I was to see what all the fuss was about. OMG WHO COULD BE HERE! HOW COULD THIS CHANGE MY LIFE BECAUSE IF A PICTURE NEEDS TO BE TAKEN, I SHOULD BE THERE TO SEE IT IN PERSON!! J LO? BENIFFER? BRITTNEY? A Volvo pulls out and waits at the light with four girls in it. In the back seat, looking at me is the neighbor chick from the OC. The Paprazzi try to act all cool for some reason and point at the car while trying to pretend not to show interest. No pictures. The Volvo speeds off and suddenly 4 or 5 big ass SUV's without license plates scream up the street to follow while the photo guys run top speed up the street. It was like a high speed cop chase. The SUV's were out of control. All for the OC girl buying 2nd hand junk. Put the Princess Di thing into better perspective.

but the verizon guy isnt really tabloid fodder, so they moved onto the OC chick.

I don't know why they didn't but they were on the wrong side of the car. If I had a camera, I would have scored but her glasses covered most of her face so I don't know...

Seriously though, the SUV's were going about 50 or 60 on the surface streets.

that's the thing, i have more jackets than shirts but only use them about 60 days out of the year.

that's nuts. I can't imagine how that must feel. I would imagine the people who the paparazzi are trying to photograph feel panic when first experiencing it. If tons of SUV's were following me at 50mph I'd freak out.

Was it Mischa Barton? Is that who you're talking about? I've never watched The OC but I did see am epispode of Laguna Beach and thought it was the OC the entire time, and also thought it was a reality show. Those were some attractive and wealthy kids. It, really made me feel ugly, and provincial, and fat, and ugly. Fucking California, they're lucky they have us in Illinois to make them look good.

My cousin was shopping in Beverly Hills and a Ferrari pulled up... some 'average' (his word) looking blonde chick got out and basically told him to escort her into Cartier. Before he knew what was going on he realized it was Paris Hilton and lo and behold... shutters were flyin all over the place. Yeah, LA can be pretty nutz. I've yet to see him in any gossip rag though. I do have an eye out though!

I see celebs all the time and never tire of it. It's such a strange and fascinatingly odd relationship. "I kind of know you... wait no I don't really at all, but you're in my living room weekly or in that story I love so much."
