Hey -- so I'm at the library in San Jose rapping one out to you folks, just to catch up a little in case you're interested.

1) Job's going well. I'm learning a new program called RoboHelp, and I've already found some quirks., Very odd, but it's what we use.

2) Apartment's very cool aesthetically and temperature-wise -- I got the cool side of the building, so yay. The location's working out well.

3) I hooked up in AA again and have a new sponsor. He's a bit more scathing than I'd expect for someone with 10 years' sobriety, and don't ask me to defend THAT particular generalization. Anyway, so far, so good.

4) Exercising a lot and back on the diet -- that's going well, and thank God for muslce memory.

5) There's a lot to do here; I've already heard free reggae in the park and some Japanese drumming. I screwed up and missed the mariachi festival this weekend, which was a shame; I landed in some Polynesian food festival by mistake, and it was abit skanky and not on my diet anyway.

6) I'm reading All the Pretty Horses, which is good so far.

7) Haven't gotten my deposit back from the old apartment; I could use it, though. I've got $100 to last until payday (last day of the month).

8) I've been meeting other folks -- neighbors, wanderers here and there -- but no real kin just yet.

9) Today's day 12 without a cigarette OR movie. How about that!? :D

10) I can get online at work and check my e-mail and stuff, but, as I thought, no major surfing time. I'm staying pretty busy. The place is really laid back, though -- man, that's so cool. I was getting stressed by all the tensiuon. And, amazingly, when I left the office Friday, I had a big old grin because I knew I WOULDN'T BE BACK UNTIL MONDAY. Yes -- my weekends are actually weekends now, after 7 1/2 years. Hallelujah.

Anyway. I've got ten minutes left at this station. Hope you're all doing well.

wuv,

...its' Free Rap, dude. You'll catch on in five years once it's been all, you know, commercialized and shit.

are you really trying to quit your movie addiction? or is it just a coincidence?

I'd really rather have a life; yeah.

I haven't even set foot in a viddy store since I've been here. I might make it a rule that -- unless it's just impossible -- it's theaters only from now on. Maybe.

My dry cough is almost gone. Maybe one or two coughs a day now, generally after working out.

yeah maybe every time you really get the urge to light one up you should allow yourself to give in to your other less unhealthy addiciton and hire a movie.

i don't know what i'm saying.
