There's this lawyer, right, and he buys these expensive, rare cigars, and he takes out an insurance policy for them, against fire. Anyways, he smokes them all before the first premium payment is due, and he files a claim for them, saying that he lost them in a series of small fires. The insurance company, naturally, refuses to pay, so he sues them, and wins. The judge decrees that it's a stupid claim, BUT, according to the language in the policy, he's entitled to the money, it was vaguely worded. So he's awarded $15,000. This is cheaper than appealing the decision, so the insurance company pays it.
Right after he cashes the check, the insurance company has him arrested and convicted for arson, and he's fined $24,000 and sent to jail for 24 months. It's true as far as I know, I really hope it is, it just made me laugh out loud when I heard it. I work for an insurance company, AND I plan to go to law school though, so maybe I'd just find it funnier than most
