The buzz has already started around these parts....and the leagues are forming.....and the bitching has already begun (me included)...

anyone else on here into it?

i usually sport a couple teams myself.

a couple years ago, i was running a league, and was 8-0. then i faced off against the other 8-0 team and i got smashed. after that game i dont know that i won again that year

i have a knack for picking one or 2 real good sleepers, but then having 3 or 4 busts

Live drafts are awesome if everyone can attend. Usually, thats not the case unless the league is with your drinking buddies down the street.

I've been playing for 5 years now and I've won the league 4 of those years and the one odd year I was in the championship and lost to a lucky punk.

.....I mean, uhh, WHY NO, I've never played before, EVER, but always wanted to, can I get in with you guys? :D

by the way, I'm not joining that league this year because it's just not competitive enough for me.

yeah, i couldn't be bothered when there was no live draft. mostly because i hadn't put time into picking my team, and then i just didn't care. i knew skinny would say something.

i always used cbs sportsline, but not the free one. i'd put in my portion and then we could just all get on messenger and open a chat room to be given the draft order and we can pick that way. i don't have time to be the commissioner, so even though i did it for 6 years straight, i'm not doing it now. i'm too busy at work.

me me me!!...I'm already in or going to be in a few leagues this year. Won some nice money last year but that's not why I do it. I love football plus it helps to make the games I usually wouldn't give a shit about more interesting.

Does CBSsportsline have a free league, Yahoo does but it looks like the free league is lacking. I would consider being commish, but I'm not fronting $130.00 for the league fee.

Its like AFL dream team I think, you pick a dream team, of your fav players under a certain sallary cap, then based on stats and stuff a score is calculated each round. Your team plays against other peoples team in the league each week and a ladder is formulated etc etc.

I guess I'm in but I vote for CBSsportsline....c'mon ya cheap bastards it's only like $13 each if we get 10 teams...there still is the matter of the live draft. If we do it on a weekend I can stay up extra late or whatever....ps the commish doesn't pickt the draft order. I say we get some impartial member who we all know and trust to draw names from a hat.

How would you suggest collecting the money from everyone though. I have no prob putting up 13$, it's just a matter of someone collecting it and paying the entry fee. It just seems easier to go the free route, there's already enough to organize, the less red-tape, the better is my philosophy.

If you have a good idea about the collection of the $130 then I'd want cbssportsline over yahoo.

I dunno dude I guess it depends on how much trust you have in the members that have signed on so far. I got no problem sending you a check tomorrow. Luckily training camp hasn't even started yet. I've used it like 5 years running now.

You have to be in the league. It's tradition. We can have the draft as late as 10:00 PM if that helps you and or Jabumbo. I don't the draft should take any more than an hour.

i should be able to make something later like 10pm. i can't imagine getting home all that late. i'll have to check with the parents on their plans.

and the live drafts don't take long, they only give you like 30 seconds a pick so you have to keep it moving

Apparently they only slot so many drafts at a time. I looked to see what other times would be available, and there is nothing for Saturday, and almost nothing for other days. Sorry holmes.

If no one else joins, I should be able to find another person. We can't draft with an uneven number of teams for some reason.
