Yeah, sounds pretty dumb, right?

But believe it or not, the microwave is a perfectly good alternative to the frying pan when it comes to eggs. Just take one egg, crack it into a bowl and beat it. Microwave it for about a minute and then it will come out all nice and fluffy. Put it on toast with some cheese slices.

Damn, that shit is GOOD. I was very leery of this sort of thing, but I've become a convert. Give it a shot, it won't disappoint. (y)

I prefer to just leave the shell on before I stick it in there and let nature take its course.

I've never tried that, but i have microwaved a bowl full of marshmellow's and let them melt completley, then i twirled a spoon around it and had a sucker that lasted for weeks.

also its bad to let a can of beans sit on a fire, then poke at it with a stick. even though the explosion is completley awesome...

One time my sister put a whole egg in the microwave and nothing happened until she took it out. It kinda "popped" open. I wonder if she left it in longer would it have exploded? That would be AWESOME!

Microwaving Eggs

A 9-year-old British girl's accident is a warning to anybody who believes it is OK to cook an egg in the microwave.

The girl was blinded when she tried to reheat a boiled egg.

She heated the egg in its shell for 40 seconds at full power in the microwave. Then, just 30 seconds after taking it out of the microwave, the egg exploded, driving eggshell into her eye.

After several surgeries, doctors restored the girl's eyesight.

EDIT: I found this on a WebMD page...i think.

Well it's like they told us when we first got to this country. "9 year old British girls don't know shit about cooking eggs." It seemed strange at the time, but it's all coming together now. (y)

What you wanna do is wrap the egg tightly in aluminum foil, then poke a hole in it with a fork to allow it to vent. The shell should remain intact, so you can pick it off later. You microwave it on high for about 6 minutes and voila, what you end up with is the fluffiest egg you've ever tasted. If you're feeling especially creative, add peanut butter.

Shoulda taught me that earlier also. My sister cleaned the microwave though :) ...because I was only 7.

Since then I have done the same thing you said, beat the egg, and put it in a bowl, works very nicely. (y)
