Since my computer broke, I never got to post the coolest christmas present I ever got, the beastie boys autograph! I have no idea how my mom got hold of it but I know its authentic. Its a black and white picture of them doing the three MCs and one DJ pose, and they each signed by their picture, It says capitol records in the corner, its the best present i ever got, as great as my concert tickets. :)

Wow, you must be the only person in the world to get their autograph. I would hold on to that shit like gold. That's such a good story to tell about how you got it too... something like actually meeting them and getting it from them, personally, would be totally lame. I'm glad it didn't turn out like that.

I know exactly what you mean. I was just as thrilled as you were ...when my Mom recently discovered my original License to ILL vinyl in some old boxes that were stored for about 15 years....(damm...thats older than you). Anyway she wrapped it up and gave it to me for my b-day.

If that got damaged...id lose my mind. Really.

It would be 2wice as gold if i had it autographed. But not as fortunate as you.

Good deal. Dont mind the haters. (y)

I know. I'm really sick of people ruining other peoples happiness. I don't understand why older Beastie fans have to be so rude/mean to the 13 and 14 year olds. It seems like alot of you older fans are very immature. Don't "shit" on a younger kids good time.

I don't regret anything I said in here, actually.

I made a smartass remark to someone who happened to be younger than me. I would've said the same thing if he was forty years old. See, when people "shit" on me over something as stupid as an autograph or something I said, I don't take it to heart too much.

The fact is, I still think the kid's excitement is beyond the level of retarded. What good is an autograph if you didn't have to meet the people the autograph is from to get it? Getting something like that for a present, or through the internet, or from one of your best buddies is a lame story. To me, the whole point of having an autograph is really to have the story that goes along with it. Not "oh, well I had to shell out money for this."

Idiot.

I would be happy if I had an autograph even if I didn't meet them, because you know, their hand touched it so it still probably has DNA on it!!! I'd probably lick it, then cry because I whiped their germs off. :( But if I licked their germs off and got a cold from one of them then I'd be happy again! I know it sounds a little fanatic but you know. Of course I'd be happier if I met them in person. You know what I'd do? I'd pull out each of their hairs and colone them. Yep, that's right. You knows it. :D

I think you did take it too heart seeings you had 2 paragraphs of writing to prove your point, and let the dude be excited, how is that affecting you, theres no such thing as overly excited. "WHAT GOOD IS AN AUTOGRAPH BLAH BLAH BLAH" just let him be himself. No one gets impressed by your smart ass calls.

My buddy has Mike D's flannel from the CYH tour in 92.

It was at the Cleveland Agora and Mike D threw the flannel into the audience about a half an hour after the show.

My friend wore the shirt for 2 years and now he keeps it pinned on his living room wall.

Nothin' special, just thought I'd add that.... Carry on

I laugh at the whole "autograph" industry.
I always see these old ball players making appearences at autograph shows and conventions. I think it's pathetic when guys like Pete Rose sell their autograph for money, a lot of money. Is this the only way they have left to make a buck now that their past their prime? SAD. And half the autographed crap you see for sale is a fugazi anyway.

If I met a famous person I admired such as the Beastie Boys, I wouldn't ask for their autograph so I could try to sell it on EBAY or something, TACKY. I'd like to think I'd just try to talk to them like any other normal person. I don't need an autograph as proof to show my friends and family. If someone didn't believe me about a story of meeting someone "famous" I wouldn't really care....so they didn't believe me, life goes on.

Whatever though, this thread was started by a kid, so if it made him happy to get an autographed pic, so be it. You'll probably grow out of that stage when you get older too.
