I think I've used the oven a grand total of 4 times. I can microwave like no other though.
I'm more likely to be a homewrecker than a homemaker.

I'm not a good cook and I never have time.

I love using the oven. I like to bake, and feed everyone 95% of what I make, and eat the rest. I especially enjoy making cookies and cakes. I am told I am awesome at it. :D

I wish I was. I'm just gonna stick my head in it instead. :(

I, too, enjoy cooking a lot. I think it's fun. I would say that 98% of my joy of cooking comes from watching other people eat it and enjoy it. I think that might be one of the weirder things I've said, but it's the truth.
Andrea, next time I'm on your side of the country I'll tell you what to buy and I'll make sure you have the proper tools and I'm coming to cook for you. How's some stuffed shell pasta sound?

We can do tag team on the dishes. You wash, I'll rinse and dry. It takes a lot less time that way.

can we have raspberry sorbet for dessert?
ScarySquirrel

I don't do desserts. I'd rather just have some more "real" food. That's probably part of my problem.

I have a gas stove/oven. I like the stove because the pans get cold quicker than on a conventional stove (sometimes that's a really good thing). I hate the oven tho'. It's not right adjusted so I don't think the temperatures are right, and I never know when it's hot enough, and I love baking.

I'm pretty much completely inept in the kitchen. Gas ovens/stoves scare me. :(

1) When I was in 7th grade, I was trying to turn on the burner on the gas stove during my home ec class and it wasn't working. I kneeled down so I was eye level with it and a flame shot out and nearly singed my face off because the protective cap had been taken off for some reason. So there's that.
2) About a year after I moved into my new house, my brother made a frozen pizza in the oven and about 15 minutes after he took it out, smoke started billowing out because the assholes who installed our range left the goddamn instructions taped to the back/inside of it and they caught fire.
3) Nazis.

I was a good 4 feet away from it. That flame was some forceful shit.

same deal happened to me with a barbeque a few days ago.
newly found wisdom, if a theres no flame coming out of a propane barbeque but you smell gas, don't get as close as you can, look into it and then turn everything to high really quickly.

On New Year's Eve this guy pinned me up against the wall with my hands above my head in the same kitchen I was chopping veggies in. Now that is how I prefer to spend my time in the kitchen.

Now that you mention it, one of my most memorable makeout sessions ever took place up against a kitchen wall, so perhaps neither of us are entirely inept in this particular area of the house. ;)

I lived in my last apartment for 3-4 years. I used the oven once or twice.
I've lived in my current house for 3-4 years. There's a pie that I make and bring to parties about once a year and I have to bake the crust. Otherwise, I pretty much store things in there.
I have a large toaster oven and it doesn't heat up the whole house.
