people keep saying that.

by now so many people have said that that i might actually check that out.

for some reason i keep confusing the title with fantastic damage, which sucks. i don't know why cause they don't really have anything to do with each other but somehow i do and when people mention funcrusher i go "no i have it and it sucks" and later i think oh thats a different cd.

"Since you're my special friend, come closer for a special treat..."

8 steps to perfection is too good.

Sabotagin me ain't easy/ I'm crooked like Nathan Wind/ starrin as Cochese

Awesome album.....

Definitely one of my favourites.

Collude/Interude got a real So Watcha Want vibe; that and Vital Nerve made some nice appearances in two decent skate videos back in the 90's. That's how I found the album..

if its the best rap cd of the 90's wouldn't that sort of automatically make it the best rap album ever? unless your favorite record is from the '80s or '00s but all the real good ones are from the '90s.

Most of my favorite rap albums are from the 80's: Nation of Millions, Raising Hell, Paul's Boutique, Amerikkka's Most Wanted, 3 Feet High & Rising, Strictly Business, Paid In Full, Radio etc. But yeah, '91-'94 was a good time for rap music.

yeah my favorites are the ones from mobb deep and nas and jay z and biggie i guess. the 80's had good hiphop but only in the last couple of years im not into all that electronic crap like pack jam and shit.

don't sleep. we too easily forget the Artifacts, the Pharcyde ([Labcabincalifornia] their production was so nice), and the Bee Gees.

Ok, that's fair.

But I still think that End To End Burners was better than anything (with the exception of 8 Steps To Perfection) off of that album.

great lyrics...decent production...

but not a song on this album is a "banger".
this is stripped down, underground chill battle rap.

bangers are those tracks that you can play in a club, on the street corner, or driving down the street....and everyone just stops what their doing and just loses thier shit.
none of these tracks hold that quality.

el-p doesn't make tracks like that....

thing is, theres almost no one out there who has made good stripped down shit thats coflow-esque without sounding corny and contrived.

Silence is pretty damn banging.

That bass is off the fucking hook.

Can't believe we actually agree on something. Except I'm not a fan of 3 Feet High and I really dislike Paul's Boutique. Never got into either of them.

There's only really 5 good songs on 3 Feet High. The Magic Number, Change in Speak, Eye Know, Buddy, and Me, Myself, and I. The rest of the album is just ho hum.

Paul's Boutique is grossly overrated. Musically, it's pretty damn good. Lyrically, it's quite awful. I would say Hello Nasty is the best Beastie Boys cd.

Paul's Boutique? Same here. Everything after it was pretty weak, lyrically.

i really really got into hip hop during the RAWKUS years (internal affairs, blackstar, soundbombing) but Funcrusher Plus was favorite shit... man i was like 15 years old, and company flow got me into that real grimey ny underground hip hop like the juggerknots and all that Fondle Em records shit

and i thought 3 feet high and rising had way more than 5 good songs, fuckin "say no go" "plug tunin" were my two favorite tracks

also, Licensed to Ill had some quality in the lyrical department. besides those two albums, the beasties are some of the most cheesiest rappers out there.
