...okay, so:
It's taken me a little time to get to some authors (Drieser -- I swear, you're up very soon). Israel Horovitz is one.
So I picked up a volume of his plays at the library (Two Trilogies). The photo on the cover -- well, those who are interested have a really good idea now of how Ad Rock is going to look in 20 years.
Anyway... looking at his credits: I saw a production of Line in college and don't remember it well. I knew Al Pacino had been in The Indian Wants the Bronx, but I haven't read it.
The play I'm reading, Today, I Am a Fountain Pen could potentially be really funny onstage. It's nothing radical or particularly inventive, which is disappointing, and the Jewish humor is kinda stale in spots, but it's not bad.
Anyone else read any of Izzy's stuff? Recommendations?
Here's a different photo (http://www.tcg.org/images/am_theatre/Volume_19_images/Sept_02_images/at_web0902_horovitz.jpg) -- not the book jacket photo, but you'll probably still see a resemblance.
