His new stuff sounds like utter tuneless fuckbutter.

Unlike his old stuff, which was just shit.

yeah, even though I never got into him hardcore, I agree his producing is far inferior to his lyrical talent.

his production on "moment of clarity" is the low point of jay-z's black album

that kinda sucks.

i mean, the part about focussing on producing. please.

you know, some of his beats aren't bad. an album can always use one or two more basic beats. like the one on the 50 cent record worked pretty well. but its clear that he's not really a producer. when he keeps it simple it might sound ok, but he's not able to do the stuff the big producers can do. one beat of his on an album might sound ok but you wouldn't want to listen to an entire album being produced by him (that 2pac record he did SUCKED).

It's like with musicians turning actors. If they keep it simple and the character they're playing is not too different from their own personality they might pull it off every once in a while and make a critic go "that wasn't half bad" but there's more to acting than that and there's certainly more to producing then what eminem is doing.

yeah but who knows that might have been 10% his.

a lot of times people say dre produced a beat when really it's a lot of scott storch or mike elizondo and dre just pushed a few buttons here and there and takes all the credit.

Good; another needless new cunt is out. Hopefully this is the last we'll see of this particular reefer-loving arse-cajoler.

Come on man. Everything Dre gets involved in turns to Platinum. Snoop, Shady, NWA, even fuckin' 50 Cent got success. Dre knows his shit.

And all you people saying how "shit" and "tuneless" Eminem is... well, don't talk about hip-hop unless you know what it is.

"Reefer-loving arse-cajoler"? Worst insult ever.

But, that doesn't mean he didn't get a lot of help from other people. When Eminem makes a beat, he has dre and mike elizondo behind him. Which might make stuff a bit each easier. Just like Dre had a big advantage when he worked with Scott Storch.

I'm sorry but this shit is just a way of him taking some time off.

I'm not a fan ...do the respect the dude.

the man has put in lots of work through out time his been rapping.

travelling and touring isn't all peaches and cream.

i'm sure he wants to just chill 4 a bit.

soemtimes its good to step away....then come back stronger..

he wasn't sayin shit there for a bit.

will see

:D

couldn't have put it better myself

BTW, is Mike Elizondo exclusively a studio bass player, or does he produce as well? I am unclear on this.

Fair enough, but does this make Eminem talentless? No. He is still (or was) one of the best lyricists around. Seriously, some of his rhyme schemes are just sick. Triple syllable rhymes at the end of each line and shit. When it comes to writing lyrics Dre can't hold a candle. But Eminem just can't produce, which is the reason this news is bad for me. Hopefully he'll use the time out to come up with some more fresh and original shit like his first two albums. (y)

To that i will say that i dissed him on his production skills...

I love his rhymes ( early shit )... the more rough beats... since he got big i think it went downhill... but up commercially...

yeah i think *generic insult here* too.

i kind of find it dumb that every latches onto his old stuff.

which tends to go for just about any artist.

sure, "Encore" was sort of lame. But I don't think his rhymes fell off or anything. Just listen to "Rain Man". For me, I was just getting tired of hearing songs about the same shit.

Generally I've found his beats to be the weakest part of an album he works on, even if he can hum a melody and have Luis Resto turn it into something musical.

You'd be dreaming if you said he couldn't rap, but his beats are horrible.

People at large will still love it I guess.

Once again,I am very sad about this. If I would of known that would be the last time I got to see Em,I would of tried even harder than I did to meet him. I did get to go onto his tour bus,and back to the hotel party. But I didnt get to meet him.
As for the music,I am hoping this is a Beastie thing. maybe in like 7 yrs I will get a new CD from Eminem, till that day I will wait and continue to be his loyalist fan.

:( :( :( :(

With Eminem, there's only a select area of his material I can stomach.

I mean, sure, the "hilarious" "anthem" songs ("My Name Is," "The Real Slim Shady," "Without Me") I enjoyed when I first heard them. But when the music channels played him every 5 minutes, I grew to HATE it.

I like his material off "8 Mile" and I like his more political tracks ("White America," "Mosh"). "Sing For The Moment" was also really strong (good use of the Aerosmith sample, too).

The "angry" or "sensitive" songs ("The Way I Am," "Stan")... they were trite.

I only like Em's stuff in snippets. I can never get into it as a whole.

it's like what me and auton discuss, after 8mile and the emmy Em really had a chance to change the game, to do something big that would impace hip-hop as we know it, he reached a plateau not even the suppsoed "people" the music is for (Jigga,Nas,2pac) could reach in terms of influnce (and partly because he has skills indeed'(both in rap and . But then he comes with this Encore shit.......maybe the pressure of being the choosen one of hip-hop just got to him but shit he been lost his heart for a while, the minute he went against the grain of his style and made a booty shakin song, and a song on a LIL JON BEAT, thats when I kenw he wasnt the same. Pressure breaks pipe and it did with him'

Not many M.C's could make 'The Way I Am'.
