This made me giggle. And he's trying to make you laugh/feel okay about it...that's sweet, really.

My son feels the same way, I know, about stuff like this with me. Now that he's older and I can joke about this with him a little, I will and we laugh about it...and then he gets a near-total-body shudder/shiver because he realized that he thought about it when he didn't mean to. It makes me laugh.

i find that extremely silly. ok, scratch silly - it's just stupid. if my parents want to date and be happy with other people, they deserve it. They worked very hard all their lives to make mine happy. If there's a person out there that can make the rest of their lives happy, they should take that opportunity.

because of my parents' inability to accept my grandfather's 2nd wife, i was unable to see my grandfather in his later years. i, personally, think that was very selfish of my parents to deny someone that made my grandfather happier in his elder years.
