okay so the place that i interviewed before really wants me and i might be able to work there full time until school but I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO WEAR and to make matters worse i have to change afterward to go apply to ANOTHER place that prefers you dress like you just came out of harajuku square. i don't know if i'll get a job that i want there, but the discounts would be worth it. anyway, i'm not really nervous, just hoping that i can get what i want and that the crazy old lady owner of Place #1 doesn't make me take out my lip stud. i doubt she'll even notice it now that i changed it from the ring. i just honestly have no idea what i should wear. my pinstripe pants don't go with anything fancy. my best jeans have a huge rip next to the crotch (saving those for place #2). my other jeans are okay i guess, but are jeans suitable for discussing full-time employment?? it's not like i have time to run to tj or the rack or something to get a fancy shirt. i wore my best one to the first interview! AND i have to go look at an apartment! jesus christ!
we just got automatic garage door openers but we'll only enjoy them for a month and a half.

They say you should dress one level above the position you're interviewing for. I read that somewhere and have had a ton of people tell me it too.
So, if you're going to be working someplace that a t-shirt and jeans is okay to wear on a daily basis, then I might wear a polo and some khakis or something. You feel me?

I DON'T OWN A PAIR OF KHAKIS :(
i think i found something good. i mean, it's not really a second interview. i just called ahead and said i would be in the neighborhood running errands (running errands 45 minutes away from where i live, of course!) and might stop by and discuss new possibilities. so i've got a really nice new pair of jeans and a very nice blue pearl-buttoned western shirt. i think it'll work nicely with some sweet maryjanes. the thing is, i have to change in my car afterward for the other place, and Echewta works in the area, so i'm a little scared of that.

But seriously, what CD are you going to listen to on the way to your interview? Thats key.

the absolute worst-case scenario would be having to keep my current job and commute for a while, which i could live with. but i'd rather have something different.

I still listen to Beasties before important work stuff. Looking Down the Barrel of a Gun and others. :o
I would do Running With the Devil though. I've done Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap which is sort of similar.

cosmo is such a girly girl....
i'd be far more focused on what questions i'm likely to be asked and how i would answer them, my interview techniques, my mannerisms, etc....
...rather then what kind of jeans i will wear...

last interview I had I wore my adidas but the interviewer said 'Nah,that's allright'
it's because it was a short notice interview

appearance is just as important as the other stuff ..It's not, but it does show a level of seriousness. And some people think it is, and you don't know want to blow an interview for a stupid reason.

exactly. I know many employers who have brushed off pontential employees because they came in jeans and a t-shirt (even when the position did not require a dress code).
Being concerned with what to wear to an interview is not a 'girly-girl' situation.

Either that or she's confident about that part.
yup. i already know i had the interviews down.
both places seem to want me. the first place wants me bad, so bad they can taste it. the second place...they just got their first whiff of me, and they want more. i can feel it. if they don't call, their loss.
coming home sucked. all the onramps closed for 3 miles. @#*(%!
oh, and the car change went fine, but on the way home i stopped for gas and my skirt flew up in the wind. i gave the apartment complex behind me a free show. (y)
