Good songs used on ads

I've noticed just recently alot of ads on TV here in Australia have excellent songs playing in the background. Heres a few:

Have any of you noticed quality songs being used on otherwise average ads? Does it piss you off? Or only if its used to sell a shoddy product?

i remember the all the old adidas ads played fatboy slim songs, that was wicked (y)

I dig the Mars bar commercial that features New Order's "Blue Monday." Gets my adrenaline pumping. :D

They also used "Take A Walk On The Wild Side" by Lou Reed just before New Order kicked in (or was it just a hip-hop song using a sample of Lou Reed? Anyone know? Anyone?)

EVERY SINGLE mtv show has "Ooh Wee" and "Lose Yourself" playing at some point in the background. Seriously. Pimp My Ride, Dismissed, Room Raiders, whatever. They always use those songs.

i enjoy that blackalicious song in that sunkist commercial. reanimation i think.

Blackalicious: 'Reanimation' from the Sunkist ad, hate the ad though, I just have always loved the song. I think one or two of the songs from Gift of Gab's solo album and maybe a few Lyrics Born tracks made it into coke ads of various sorts. I just wish they actually said on the advert who made the music so the people can get some publicity and maybe a wider fanbase. I don't knock them for selling out or whatever, it just seems sorta futile to have a ton of kids going "damn I wish I knew who sang that song :mad:".

Ch-Check It Out is in just about every show on VH1. Literally, any show that in any way talks about any kind of material wealth or whatnot, they use that song. It's too bad because I don't think the Beasties really had 23" chrome in mind when they wrote that one.

Man I can't believe Audioslave used a song on a commercial. Tom Morello used to be way against shit like that.

I'd like to know who has the rights to Ramones songs, too. I've seen at least 3 commercials with Blitzkreig Bop on it.

Does anyone else like the Vonage commercial's music? The one that always has people doing dumbshit. I've been tryin to find the music to that.
