i can with some people.
like with tzar, he types with an australian accent, if that makes sense
and with g-mile, i can tell the way he speaks through his posts.
and with paul jones, and a few other other british folks, i can get a really good sense of their voice.

What do you think I talk like? When I know people from the UK post, they have like a londen accent. But people from the US I just here my voice in my head. Accents are cool though, I wish I had one.

i just rang someone, while recording it, to try and get my natural voice cause whenever i record myself i seem to put some voice on. anyway, heres the result, surely this must sound like gibberish to some (http://www.boodizm.net/downloads/DSC07526.wav) (cropped from convo to increase the gibberishness)

Yes, that is true. Because your mom's a Yank, right?
Zorra says all kinds of funny words though.
I will say that overall, the Australian accents were more difficult for me to understand than I expected. I'm super good with British ones and silly me I thought they would be similar.

yeah, my mother's from new jersey, and i spoke in an american accent as a child, but i trained myself out of it. an american accent comes really naturally to me.

I don't, but I have a verbal tick. Whenever I say something that I think is particularly smart, I tend to repeat it right away. I had a professor in school who did this and it drove me CRAZY. And then a few years later I started. I hear myself doing it and I can't stop.
I only do this in casual conversation, btw. Not in speeches.

Everybody's got their own distinct voice/accent in my head. My imagination won't allow me to just read the words without hearing a voice along with it. Mostly, I just hear the voices of celebrities.
A few distinct ones:
Zorra: Toni Collette in Muriel's Wedding
Qdrop: Mark Wahlberg as Dirk Diggler in Boogie Nights
afronaut: Missy Elliot
a-z: Kelsey Grammer as Frasier Crane
avignon: Tobey Maguire
DroppinScience: Tobey Maguire

wow, last time I checked most of my post have been written in proper English, and the whole "phonetically" bullshit, whatever you mean by it, is slang/short hand typing which most people on here do. Don't sterotype me just because you, like most people on here, assume shit. You, as well as other like you, have no idea about me. No idea about my past or the way I speak. More then likely I speak more elegantly then most of the people on here, and don't doubt me on that. The only people who have an idea is Auton and Audrey who I have met once. You wanna talk all that noise about how "phonetically" aka dumb I type on here, thus meaning I can't enunciate or articulate a thought, in the ghetto slang way "holla at cha boy" on the phone and thats for ANYBODY assuming shit, from your Marsdaddy's to your Tulla's Zorra whatever or what have you. I hate to sound like a bad Jerry Springer episode but "you don't know me"

Tzar it's where written word pertains to the tone of voice one might speak i.e. accent or dialect. So like you pick up accents through the way things are 'said'. I don't know if that made any sense but if you've ever read a book like 'Trainspotting' you'll get what I'm saying.
ok i get it now.

A good friend of mine actually sounds EXACTLY like Tobey Maguire. I had him say a few lines from "Spider-Man" and it was uncanny.
Anyways, I do try and come up with voices for people. For the Americans/Canadians, I think of my own accent. The Brits and Aussies all sound like the Queen ( ;) ). I imagine g-mile as Ludacris ( :D ). I imagine some alluring Brazilian accent (which I'm not really sure how they sound, but I envision something similar to Spanish or Italian or something) for MissSoulFire. The Dutch people all sound like Goldmember ("I'm from Holland, isn't that veeeeeird?").
Stuff like that.
