After all my knee issues, I'm just getting back into training. But due to my busy schedule I don't have time for the gym, so I've been swimming when I have days off from work, and lifting weights / doing abs exercises when I can.

Just wondering what you all do for exercise, might be able to pick up a few ideas.

Oh, and to those tempted to post stupid shit here - I just got off nights and due to lack of sleep I'm not in the best mood, so please shut the fuck up :)

Thank you

i am so out of shape, but i do try to do little things.
i used to bike to work everyday, but i hated getting to work and being all sweaty.
so now i walk to work everyday, over the bridge and into halifax. its a nice hour long walk.
i also have a zillion pool passes but have only ever gone once. i gotta start going again...

I lift Oldsmobiles. And if I'm in an especially active mood, I may even lift a Caddy.

I bought a rowing machine last year. I use it when I don't want to go to the gym, its to late, to early, etc. Might be something to look into because I don't think there is that much strees on your knees and gives you a great workout but I'm not a doctor.

I have a room in my apartment known as the torture chamber. It has a smith machine a step machine a heavy bag and all sorts of other equipment. But I don't go in there anymore. Not since...the "accident".

I've been doing crunches and lower back exercises whilst watching Blade Trinity this afternoon. Seeing Ryan Reynolds in that has shamed me into making sure I work out a little (okay, a lot) more....

.....and the bit where he calls Parker Posey a "cock juggling thunder cunt" almost made me piss myself :D

that sounds like a tagline to a really cheaply made horror film

i used to be in shape, but now not as much. my favorite thing to do is to stretch before bed. its not necessarily excercise, but you sleep better, you wake up feeling good, and you become more agile so you can do all that crazy excercise shit

Try doing leg lifts so that, on the up move, the toes are pointed at the ceiling; then lift your pelvis with the upper abs so your toes go a few inches higher. That's a helluva crunch.

I still haven't seen that movie.

I go to the gym 3 times a week. When I'm there I use the elliptical since my knees are crappy. It works well. I also do free hand weights to work out the arm muslces. I do crunches on this 'machine' that is basically like those ab-roller things, but you lay your entire body on it vs just the upper part of it. There are also these bars for you feet to tuck in to if you want to do full-blown sit-ups. I like it because it keeps my neck intact and I don't strain it.

When not doing that, I've been known to use videos at home, any activities during the weekend that are outside...I try to include something active! Swimming, walking, etc.

I feel awful talking about this right now because I was getting in to the swing of things (for working out) and then I got sick. I was told not to go to the gym while I'm sick since when I tried a few days ago I felt faint and felt the need to hurl.

I've been sick TWO WEEKS now. It's pissing me off. I want to go exercise :(

Yeah, rowing machines are good, but I don't have too much room at my place. I currently have an elliptical trainer on order, but UPS fucked up the delivery. Apparently the goods were signed for, but I don't have them and have never received a delivery from UPS in my life, so it could turn out to be interesting...

Looking forward to eventually receiving the trainer though :)

I have one of those Chuck Norris machines in my basement I sometimes use. It's actually a pretty good workout for the lazy man. My friend has a whole bunch of workout equipment so I use that. I've lost ten pounds in a month.

Got that going for me.

I don't do this to lose weight.
My weight is right where I want it if not a little under.
I do it to stay healthy and because I like to exercise.

In the summer, I run and go to the gym.
In the winter, I just go to the gym.
I walk and hike a lot most months in the year.

When I go to the gym, I do something at 85% for 60-70 minutes, 6 x/week.
Once a week, I'll bump one gym session to 70-80% for 90 minutes.

Running in the summer is in addition to the 60-70 minutes, 6x/week.
I run at 65-70%.

I lift light weights for my quads to help keep my knees healthy.

I don't use weights otherwise.

I do a lot of crunches each day, usually in the morning and again in the evening.
I don't use a rubber ball or any abs equipment.
Just the floor.

Why don't you go rent Barbershop and Torque and see if you can fill in any more of those mysterious gaps that perhaps contributed to Ice Cube's "slow" descent into mediocre actor/rapperdom.
