No doubt! In fact, there wouldn't be any terrorism anywhere. Surely islamic extremists would have seen our side of things and quit bombing us. They would have thrown thier arms around us and hugged us and kissed us and loved us.

I have it on good authority that, according to leading extremist islamic clerics, had we not invaded Iraq, the entire Muslim population was ready to completely re-write the Koran to espouse religious tolerance and acceptance of opposing views. Frankly they were all a little tired of having to kill anyone who did not believe in Allah. Things were already getting messy. Coincidentally, they had recently agreed that the term "infidel", as used in the Koran, was merely referring to a person who would screw your goats under the cover of darkness.......not "those who infringe on Holy Land".

It upsets me to read that these bombings helped further push the Patriot act in the US.Lawmakers voted 257-171 Thursday to make permanent 14 of the Patriot Act's 16 sections that are scheduled to expire in December, rejecting the civil liberties concerns of Democrats and some Republicans who wanted to limit several provisions of the anti-terrorism law.

"Passage of this act is vital to maintaining the post-9/11 intelligence reforms that have reduced America's vulnerability to terrorist attacks,'' said House Judiciary Committee chairman Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., the bill's main author.

The other two provisions -- Section 215, which gives the FBI secret access to people's business, medical, library, bookstore and other shopping records, and Section 206, which authorizes so-called roving wiretaps -- would be renewed for 10 years as part of the vote. Woo hoo! Big Brother is CLAMPING DOWN!
