View Full Version : Ugh, such a bad mood

I'm in such a shit mood from having a shit day at work, and now having to spend all the rest of my day off cleaning my room and then having to go in to school tonight, where I'll spend an hour in traffic to get there and then another 3 hours in class.

Then I come in and decide that it'll be a good idea to go into general political discussion. I don't even know why I do anymore. There's one moderate Republican there, a few moderate democrats, but most of them are way too extreme. The extreme Republicans for some reason think that I'm an extreme liberal because of bits and pieces of arguments, when I'm really a moderate.

I really need to stay away from that place. It reeks of attempted superiority and biasness. I'd love more than anything to have a restricted discussion to only people who can formulate good, logical arguments. I guess you can't really find that online though.

Yeah, they are. I really think I should stay out of that forum, because it just lets me know how ignorant a lot of America really is.

I guess only the ones who are vocal about their beliefs are the ones who strongly believe in them and their infallibility. Maybe there are some smart moderates out there that are just afraid to step into the lion's den.

Just living in such a corrupt nation full of people happily willing to defend the corruptivity is enough to make me want to punch someone in the face.

Gotta agree with you, Queen. Had a couple of horrible, crappy days myself and have stayed away from the political forum as well. Got tired of everybody shouting their ideas without any reasonablity or sense. Even though though you and I have disagreed, I hope I'm the one moderate Republican you were referring to... ;)

Anyhow, hope today is better.... :)

Indeed you are. Everyone, meet Sam, the one Republican you'll meet who doesn't froth at the mouth nor have a big bulging vein protruding from his forhead whenever the word "liberal" is even whispered. (y)

ditto.

I venture in here and there to start a topic to get people talking about it since I didn't see a thread on them. Then after it gets a bunch of responses, a look at particular responses, and wonder why I bother.

I remember going in there on Tuesday when I was in a piss mood. Always a bad idea. It just makes it worse.

Excellent. Join my church.

Breakfastarianism is the delicious new way to let syruppy goodness into your heart!

Two rules though:
1. Don't be a jerk. (That pretty much covers everything.)
2. Shut up and eat your pancakes. (That covers the rest.)

It always boils down to the subject of abortion and the war. EVERYTHING. No political discussion can do without them.

Karl Rove? The war. John Roberts? Abortion.

I should just go in there, read the subject title and decide whether or not I should go on a rant about abortion or war, because those are my two choices.

Actually, I do have a big bulging vein protruding from my forehead...but that's always there....

Thank you very much, Queen. You made my day and made me smile, so now I can say I've had a decent day instead of another crappy one....

Much respect.... (y)

political discussion makes me angry too, sometimes.
one of the things that annoys me the most is the big shit-fights - republicans vs democrats. no-one seems to notice how similar conservatives and liberals are.

i really don't understand why americans throw the word "liberal" around like they do.. it seems like they're just trying to confuse the rest of the world

and it is a shame that two very knowledgeable people on the board, (political-wise) ace 42 and pres zount don't post there anymore, probably because no-one really listened (or read) what they said.

funny It's seems most of europe is ignorant to what is going on over here.

Why are we so ignorant , cuz we voted GW in 2 times.
I have a few friend who are iraqi's (pepole) who live here now I you'll never meet more Pro-Bush pepole, I guess Saddom was kinda a jackass , and only us ignorant Americas see that.

most people agree that saddam was a jackass... but that doesn't mean that thousands of innocents have to die to get rid of him... and it's a bit hypocritical of W to pick and choose which dictators he wants to get rid of

Sorry I upset you QAR. :(

I go into the the Gen Pol thread when I'm feeling frustrated by the current political situation and need to vent. Before the London Bombings, I think I was last there in November 04. :o

I'd like to think I'm open to discussions, but doubt anyone will change my opinions. I avoid the real numskulls in there as much as I can -- you'll rarely see me respond to something gmsisko or his ilk post about. I'm pretty sure we all post in GP to say what we believe.

Hahaha...it's okay. I forgive you. :)

I'm in a better mood today though, cuz I got rotisserie chicken and Wayne's coming home for a month starting tomorrow!

Hurray!
