This is a list of places you'd like to travel back in time to see.

1. Crucifixation of Christ - The single most important event in history

2. 1980 - Phillies win the World Series - It's my favorite memory I have of me and my Grandpop together.

3. Building of the Pyramids - Tell me you're not just as fascinated to find out how they were really built and designed.

4. Ancient Rome or Greece - These periods have always fascinated me with all the mythology, war, and crazy sex orgies.

5. Woodstock - Good music, Good herb, Good cause,....bad acid. 3 out of 4 ain't bad I guess.

i think that's an extremely bold, "westcentric," and idiotic thing to say that the crucifixion of jesus was the most important in history ... as for your question.. i'm going to dwell on this one .. quite thoughtprovoking though (y)

Wether you believe in Christianity or not, there's no denying the influence it's had on the world, both positively and negatively.

accepting that it has had a huge influence and calling it the most important event ever are two completely different things.

and the 2nd comment is about the orgies .. i mean what do you think all those philosophers did in their spare time (seriously) ;)

Are you kidding? Jesus life death and resurrection changed the world. The dating of time was changed because of him. Wars have been fought in his name. No one in history has made an impact like him!

For the sake of making this more interesting, I'm assuming we can travel across time and distance... meaning I could be somewhere I'm not already when I take off back through time. Because if I was stuck in Grand Rapids all the time, no matter what year it was, that might not be so interesting.

1. Nov. 5, 1955 - This was the day Dr. Emmet Brown had the idea for the flux capacitor... which is what makes time travel possible. Gotta see that.

2. Sep. 11, 2001 - Assuming I knew I could get out safely, it'd be interesting to watch the horrific events of this day while having a calmer head and idea of what would happen in the future.

3. Somewhere mid/early Fall of 2003 - I'd go back in time and give myself some better advice on how to handle the year in general and maybe even give myself a little chick advice...

4. The 60's or something... I dunno - I'd like to catch Miles Davis and/or John Coltrane in concert. Now that would be sweet.

5. The early 80's - Watch the growth and evolution of hip-hop! Now that would be awesome.

5. Living in Philly in the early '80's was the next best thing to being in the South Bronx, NYC. I never realizied how cool it was until I looked back on it years later and realizied how much hip-hop had influenced me growing up.

Good one there Adam (y)

P.S. I'm not sure I'd want to witness the tradegy of the WTC over again, no matter how meaningful it was.

P.P.S. When Mae and I went to Live 8, one of the facts that I left there with was this: "As many people who died in the WTC terrorist attack die from extreme poverty in Africa everyday." They have a Sept. 11th everday of the year. Now that is something to think about.
