I don't know as I have seen much of this in London. The trend here right now seems to be more like wrap tops, often in ethnicky sorts of prints and/or flowy materials. Which for those of ust with tits and hips is a bloody godsend, as it's a great look for a curvy shape.

If it's the style I think it is, it's about the only top I'm wearing this summer:

this (http://www.jepboutique.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/IMG_0971.jpg)
this, but without the logo (http://www.fruvous.com/miscpics/mf_girlsbluecami.jpg)
and

If that's what you're talking about, then yes, I like that style. :)

I'll put a cropped picture of me in Sure Shots wearing one early next week.

I won't show my face--hopefully no one will recognize me from the rest of me. I'll be in a funny pose--it's an inside joke between me and the person who took the photo. So no laughy about that.

you'd have to be very thin to wear any of those. most women are not.

I enjoy them a bit. Mostly so I don't have to see every girls ass crack anymore.

I've seen some not-so-skinny girls wearing them and they just accentuate the love handle rollover. I think if you're thin enough to not have bulges, they're kinda cute.

I was thinking she meant these. (http://www2.victoriassecret.com/images/prodlgvw/V246780.jpg) Tunic lenght or something like that. Specifically designed to accentuate every part of your body you might not be so happy with. :)

yeah tunicish is the key

I like how they accentuate my non love handle thickness
though most are supposed to be able to be pulled over your ass but the ones i have stop just short of crack because I have a long torso so meh

so yay in my books
Ive seen many many nay as of late though
oh so many
but i agree with lindsay, the public crack covering aspect of them is quite a bonus

Oh, those. Yeah I have seen a few of those, although I wouldn't say it's a terribly popular look. Not the very long ones, anyway. Regular length ones with that lacy trim at the top or some beading, yeah, they're around.

Personally I don't go for sleeveless, because I've got big boobs and visually it's much better to have a top with cap sleeves or even something a little drapier to keep my upper body in balance aesthetically. In other words, without sleeves, I'm all tits, which is sooo not a good look (no matter what my husband says).

If I wore the top in that picture, I'd look so pregnant it's not even funny.

Those--I get it now.

I don't care for that look.

The shorter ones--camisole length--are okay but if the lace is overdone, then it looks like you're wearing lingerie over jeans.

edit: The other thing I tend not to like about that look is that the lace along the edge is usually tinted in some weird way. Like if the camisole part is green, the lace might be orange. It's an odd-looking combination.

I'll probably still do it anyway.

I have a bunch of photos of me in those tops--my son was showing me the typical poses that people take at the park where he works as a photographer. He said that for each age group, there's a good chance that the people posing will use particular posing styles--styles that are somewhat unique to those groups.

He stepped me through each one and snapped off photos. Some of those poses are VERY funny.

And by the way, sure enough, when I went to his park on Friday, I watched from afar as people posed for their photos. It was funny to see how many of them posed exactly the way he said they would. He knew I was watching from a bench and when someone did pose typically, he'd turn around and give me this told-you sort of look. Made me laugh out loud.

I don't get the silky material part either. Seems like two different worlds getting together--lace/silk and jeans. I'm okay with contrast, but that look doesn't do it for me. It's like wearing sneakers with a dressy dress.

The tank tops that I have are 100% cotton--from The Cotton Factory. (There's one down the street from my work and they had nice tanks that wash well and fit perfectly. They're my favorite shirts this summer.)

Oh I don't know about that. Depends on the style of jeans and top combo, really. I think it's entirely possible to successfully mix a pair of slouchy (but not slobby) jeans with a silky/lacy/sparkly/satiny (delete as needed) top. I've got a top that's made out of this really silky sari that looks killer teamed up with my Levi's Type 1's and some sequined ballet flats.

if you mean those, I don't really like em. They are cute and all but I got some wide ass hips. It's not flattering on wide ass hips :/

the shorter style I saw someone else post, just regular ol tank tops. I do those.
