I gotta say that easily Rage Against The Machine and Public Enemy get me into some serious fist-pumping whenever I listen to 'em.

"Don't Believe The Hype"? "Know Your Enemy"? Aw yeah.

What other bands make you feel this same way?

Rage Against the Machine probably fits the bill for this thread best of any band...

Erm, maybe another of mine is Jedi Mind Tricks..They are a very violent rap group out of Philadelphia...They got some strong words.

When I listen to Bikini Kill, Desaparecidos, or Le Tigre (just "On Guard" or "FYR").

From this (http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/showpost.php?p=782687&postcount=1) to militant?? :D

Yeah you got the two groups I woulda said, maybe add a bit of NWA, some sex pistols...basically any gangster/hardcore rap or punk.

Some of your choices are so clichéd. Ooh, Public Enemy, look at me.

Yes, but you honestly can't dispute the choice of PE, can you? It doesn't matter how "cliche" it is, "Don't Believe The Hype" or "She Watch Channel Zero" are fist-pumpin'.

I'd add System of a Down to this list, but sometimes they're too "out there" to truly start a rally ("trust in my self-righteous suicide"? ), but I give props to "Boom" for getting me through the first stages of the Iraq war.

I don't ever feel militant anymore. Carly Simon's That's the Way I Always Heard it Should Be made me feel close to militant when I was young.

I've always liked the idea of Public Enemy more than the music. I can't believe I agree with Tungtvann on that one.

Rage Against The Machine for sure. Every time I hear "And now you do what they told ya" or "They say jump and you say how high" my mind starts to think on how we are controlled by the media or the propaganda. And Public Enemy too. Dont forget PE.

The Clash's first two albums.

"Tommy Gun"... the part about standing there in Palestine, blowing the fuse always gets to me.
