What the hell cures vertigo?

Seriously. I've been getting this shit for the past 3 days straight. It's the feeling like if you were lying down for a while and stand up all of the sudden and the blood in your brain rushes elsewhere, and your brain has trouble keeping up with what's around it and you get dizzy and a weird lagging feeling.

Ibuprofen and Advil both suck. I don't know of any medications that work for dizziness, either. :(

technically, it's caused by the fluid in the semi-circular canals in the inner ear being upset.

I thought maybe it's because I ran out of my anti-anxiety medication, so I've been off it for a week. I'm doing pretty okay, too, so I may not want to go back on it again if I don't have to....but that's the only reason I could think up for dizziness.

i've only taken ativan occasionaly, and for a few days after i take one i get the same thing.

My kid gets vertigo when he takes antibiotics.

He never told me. I saw it happen to him. We were due to meet on campus last Spring. I could see him as I walked toward him. He was walking a pattern of tight clock-wise circles. At first I thought "he is all fucked up, isn't he" and then I remember thinking, "I hope no one from work is seeing this." :D

So I walked up to him and I was trying to be all casual and calm because it's not every day you get to see your kid being a lunatic like that and doing it so freely in front of so many people and right in plain view of the admissions committee office.

I go, hey, what are you doing? And he goes I'm dizzy and this helps and then I go, damn but that's good news and he just looks at me like I was the one who'd been walking in circles.

The bottom line is that when he's on that antibiotic, he gets dizzy.
When he stops taking it, he stops being dizzy.

I would NEVER have thought that before my kid said it helped him.

I've only been dizzy once and that was on a whale-watching cruise--everyone was dizzy. Big swells. No whales. Plenty of puke. Why do they make vomit bags out of see-through plastic.
