I GOT A SCHOLARSHIP!

The FEEA just called me on the phone and told me that I've been awarded a $1,000 scholarship for my senior year at UMD, based on my academics and essay I wrote.

I'm so goddamn happy I'm crying. My struggling for tuition is now over. :o

I'm going to be paying off loans till I die. My school is going to cost me 55k when I am done.

Tuition is $4,000 a semester now. Last year, it was $3,700.

I paid $2,000/semester last year (and had no social life while I worked to make up for the next semester), and had a loan for $3500.

I now only have to pay $750/semester, because I have a loan for $5500 for the year, and this $1,000 scholarship.

I'll be in the hole $9,000 when I get out, which is the equivelent of paying off a mid-sized used car. So it's not bad at all. (y)
