I was watching this stupid TV show and tonight there were lots of tranvestites and some of their boyfriends were there too, claiming they weren't gay.

I don't get that. They like a man dressed as a woman but who has a penis!!! I thought that made you gay. I forgot if he was the one who got the "message" or give the message. Hmmm...Still...you are attracted to a fake men. I wish there was at least one transvestite on this board who had a boyfriend, too. :D

And I'm pretty sure that they don't consider themselves "gay" only if the man-chick has undergone surgery and has a pseudo-vagina. Which is still gay, cuz I mean, everytime you go down on your girlfriend, you gotta know that something's horribly wrong.

Well... whilst I can't pretend to fully understand it myself, I'm pretty convinced that both gender and sexuality (which are of course different things) occur on a spectrum. If you think of it like a see-saw, the majority of us have it easy and sit comfortably close to one end or the other of the board, and can clearly identify ourselves as male or female, gay or straight.

But I reckon that there is a a distinct subset of people who are on or near the fulcrum, and don't tip quite so readily one way or the other. There aren't a lot of outlets for people like this in our society, in most societies, and so this can manifest in different ways. Men seeking out other males who 'present' as females is but one.
